This is were you lose any credibility. It’s not about hating Dak, it’s pointing out objective truths. I love Dak and am happy he’s our qb but can acknowledge without any hesitation that he has accuracy issues (along with extreme risk aversion). He’s the qb he is and I think he will steer the team in a good direction for years to come. He’s just also apart of what leads Dez to underwhelm.
Dez was also highly productive over the second half of last year and had a dominant playoff game. You just gloss over it because you’re biased.
Also the numerous times his separation was proven wasn’t “a couple of times “ it was a metric that’s been charted over the course of the season and put him squarely ahead of the majority of the big name receivers in the league.
Is he wide open on go routes? No. Is he gaining consistent separation in the middle of the field and either over thrown or not progressed to? YES
Teams don’t double him because his go routes are designed to clear the underneath for Beasley and witten. It is much more effective to focus on that then to double Dez on low percentage stretch plays.
With that said he is over paid clearly. No one has a problem admitting that. It’s the hyperbole on his abilities and lack of any critical thought or context that is frustrating coming from fans.
If you think it’s more honorable to bash one of most popular, productive, emotional leaders in the teams history than to defend him... well then yeah I’m sure I’m not the type of fan you’d like.
