That was a great interview.
The basic key to running the ball we need to put people on their backs he said it over and over that's the mindset I'm undrafted I need to not make mistakes how can Jerry not understand this is a guy who needs to play.
He starts those young guys fresh out of college that aren't ready to play and basically blows our season.
How freaking bad is it when you have the players on the team that can do the job and your owner general manager is just too stupid to let them play.
Amen, brother @Blackrain !

You nailed it. :hammer:

Hopefully this also kills the narrative you can only find linemen in the first round. Improve your scouting department if you think that’s true.
100% agreed brother.

The 90s Great Wall of Dallas did not have a single lineman drafted in the 1st round! That Oline helped protect Troy Aikman and open up holes for the NFL rushing leader in Emmitt while leading them to 3 Super Bowl victories.

Jerry needs to learn from those years and remember what it took to build such a winning/dominating Oline.

The great wall was a fluke. Jethro tried to redo it and failed
look at the top O lines in football today and a fair percentage are high draft picks
building a top O line on low picks and UDFA simply does not work

Show us the proof.

I already showed you the 90s Cowboys Great Wall of Dallas which helped win 3 Super Bowls.

Show us where there is an Oline full of top Olines who have led their teams to Super Bowls are comprised of high draft picks.

Granted many offensive linemen are high draft picks.
But players can be found later in the draft some just need to develop as offensive lineman don't necessarily have their full man weight and strength right out of college genetics play into this and different human beings develop at a different rate.

The key is having an elite scouting staff that can scout these players adequately and find guys that can be developed.
That way you are capable of anchoring the line with some high draft picks that are hit the ground running guys and add in your developmental players as they come along so it's not to always have to use first round picks and expect them to be able to play directly out of college as we've seen this does not always pan out

Take a good look at the All pro and Pro bowl players over the last twenty years on the O line
you will find very few at all that were not first or second rd picks; the rest third maybe fourth; we did get Free in the fourth
You show me an UDFA
Or a sixth or seventh rd pick
you are going to have to look hard

Considering Beebe is still learning the center position, and Hoffman played mostly at center in college, and also that Beebe was a top guard in college, I'd move Beebe back to his natural position at guard and put Hoffman at center.

But if you don't do that this year, then I'd leave Beebe at center, I'm not a fan of the "jack of all trades and master of none" player. Continuity on the line is huge, shuffling players around isn't good for continuity.

But if Beebe is left at center and Hoffman replaces Martin, don't think that'd be a bad thing, both appear to have the potential to be really good at either position. Both are young as well.

Nice problem to have...
