he's smart enough to figure out how to use our line and backs to a power running game or whatever. he could make it work. our o-line is a bunch of overpaid bums anyways.

That was the one thing I liked about Shanahan. He could get any Oline and any running back to run for 1300-1400 yards.

I can't believe the Head Coaching turnover though. You are probably looking at 10 new head coaching jobs before it's done. With that many HC jobs out there, Garrett is probably gone.

Broncos fired head coach Mike Shanahan.

The better decision would have been to strip Shanahan of his personnel duties, but owner Pat Bowlen made the reactionary move to fire him outright. Bowlen is very unlikely to find a better in-game strategist and influence on Jay Cutler. It's also now unclear what will become of the team's zone-blocking running system, a longtime Broncos staple. Shanahan finishes his 14 years in Denver with a 136-86 record, two Super Bowl wins, and seven playoff appearances. This is a foolish firing by the Broncos.

Denver plays half the year a mile above sea level. Large, rotund men cannot hack that. One of the reasons they like smaller, finesse linemen.

Surprising, and not surprising - as noticed, the Broncos have made any playoff noise since Elway left, and this year was another late season swoon - though to be honest, the guy has had a hand full of *** at QB since Elway left, Cutler and Griese and Plummer...

Wow. Didn't see that one coming. In fairness he hasn't done much since Elway left, but he was a staple of the broncos.

Now you might think this is a lot of stuff,
But to Minnie this was not enough
He bought a stable, full of thorough-bred race horses
His meal she ate was a dozen courses

He did more with less talent in Denver....how is he fired and Wade still has his job in Dallas? 44-6 They should not have let Wade on the plane to come back to Dallas. He and about twenty players should have been let go and left in philly.

I'm just telling you what Shannahan does on offense and it has nothing to do with a power running game and never has as long as he has been in Denver. I don't think he is a bad HC but it would take some time for him to come to Dallas and revamp the team to fit his offense. I don't see that happening.
yeah I know. i'm just talking out of my you know what. but I've always liked him as a HC.

yeah he is everything a rb could want. I've seen him get bums off the street to rush for a 1,000+. yeah gonna be a lot of new coaching jobs hopefully some here too.

your guess is as good as mine. a former division rival the Raiders has a nice rb stable though.

Shannahan is (or was) one of the most arrogant coaches in the league. That's my biggest problem with Garrett, he feels that he can outsmart people instead of playing the odds. He would also get "cute" during the draft and really reach for some players, which is something that our GM does as well. It's a bad combination, and a good way to find our team outside of the playoffs...and maybe without a job.

Still only one losing season and 2 Super Bowl victories...but only one playoff win in the past decade.

We ARE outside the playoffs. :)
One more win than we have had in the last decade :)
