He did more with less talent in Denver....how is he fired and Wade still has his job in Dallas? 44-6 They should not have let Wade on the plane to come back to Dallas. He and about twenty players should have been let go and left in philly.

Wade has a job because it's his second season without a playoff victory. Shannahan doesn't have a job because he's won only one playoff game in the past ten years.

Shanahan has been replacing DC's on an annual basis lately, yet nothing works. Bowlen finally had to hold Shanahan responsible since he's the guy who keeps picking these failed DC's.

Al Davis is probably dancing on his bad legs right now.

heads aren't rolling in Dallas

They will be.

Jerry is just having to stand by his statements. Pride cometh before the fall.

Hard to defend a guy that leads a team out and gets rolled to the tune of 44-6, realllll hard. But Jerry would rather let all the good coaches get gobbled up and save his plastic face, than do what a good general manager should do and show Wade the door.

We ARE outside the playoffs. :)
One more win than we have had in the last decade :)

Right, but we've had 4 or 5 coaches in that time, they've had one. See how long it took for Denver to give up on Shannahan, but we're ready to can Wade after one really good season and one bad season?

So Denver fires a coach with two Superbowl rings and we keep the coach that has never won a playoff game.

A decent coach would have been able to get the talent on this team to perform and achieve something by now. Wade has underachieved by a wide margin for two years....why give him a third to prove he can not coach.

Cowboys 2009 season is doomed if Wade is the coach...how many seasons of not making or winning in the playoffs must fans have to take before Wade is shown the door. And too many prima donna players on this team....cut all of them now.

my guess is that he was asked to give us his vp role and only focus on being a head coach and he couldn't swallow his pride to do that. really stupid on his part. have to agree with the owner on this one. he's a good coach but he can't draft or evaluate talent worth the ****.

a former division rival the Raiders has a nice rb stable though.

shannahan would never go back to the raiders....not until al davis is still there.

i can see him being courted soon by jets and browns...

i guess they finally realized that w/o Terrell Davis & Elway he couldn't do jack crap. it's about time they figured that out.

as for us....i've given up on trying to figure out what Jerry thinks

Browns would probably be intriguing for him given the two young QBs there.

Conversely I'm sure he won't even talk to the Jets until Favre goes through his Annual Retirement Ritual.

Not exactly. We have been through 2 real head coaches since 1989, that is almost 20 years. We had a bunch of Jerry's bozos in between.

The Broncos have had a real coach for the last decade.

Jerry didn't make the decision to stay with a proven winner. He made the decision to stay with a proven DC who is an enabler as a head coach.

We did achieve something in the very first season, we won the division and took the eventual SB champs right to the brink. The odds were against us in the Giants playoff game and we lost. It sucked, but it was still a good season. Wade hasn't underachieved by a wide margin for two seasons, you can only make the case that he underachieved THIS season. And with that, I would say that injuries played a huge role.

You give Wade a 3rd year because, in his first two seasons, he won 22 games. That's just as many as Mike Tomlin. What did Tomlin's Steelers do in the playoffs last year? They got bounced in the first round. So, the difference between Tomlin and Wade, to this point, is 1 playoff appearance, that's it. That's not enough to justify firing the guy, especially with what our team faced.

Cut all the prima donna players? News flash, the NFL is filled with elite athletes who are generally in their 20's and early 30's, who are showered with millions of dollars and who captivate tens of millions of people. Do you think that may make a lot of players pretty vain and feel entitled? Talent is vain, that's true in almost ANY field.

I don't see it that way although you may be right. We'll see. Shanahan has also been coaching in one of the worst conferences in the league, Denver is an advantage, and he's not much for grading players IMO. He wouldn't want Jerry playing with his soup either. And I wouldn't put him and Jerry in the same sandbox. Someone needs to be able to check Jerry with his reaches.

He thinks he's a "football guy" and will go to his grave trying to prove it to the world

Jerry, just go coach the team yourself and get it out of your system
