Broncos WILL Trade Cutler

if i was the broncos id probably fire the coach! quarterbacks are pretty hard to come by, specially ones as talented as cutler

I see why Cutler is upset. They tried to back door him when he wasn't looking. Now that it didn't work, they want to make up. I say good for Cutler.

Anyway, the only trade the Broncos will make will involve the Broncos getting a potential franchise QB who is ready to take that role. They are not going to trade the Lions for the first pick and draft a QB. That will put them back three years.

The only QB I can think of in the NFL that fits perfectly in a trade either straight up or in a three way is Brady Quinn. He is ready to become a franchise player and played very well in the games he started last year (minus the last game where he tried playing with the broken thumb and had a terrible game). He played for Charlie Weis who is a McDaniels collegue and they run the same basic offense.

The Browns could acquire Cutler by giving up Quinn and a mid round pick. Cutler's passes would be very effective in the always windy Browns stadium.

Or, it could go three way where the Browns get the Bucs or the Jets first round pick, the Broncos get Quinn, and the Bucs or the Jets get Cutler. Only problem with that is the Browns will be stuck with Derek Anderson as their starter with no one to fall back on.

If I was Cleveland, I would try to trade Quinn for Cutler straight up. Though Cutler would not be as popular as the Ohio native Quinn, his strong arm would be more effective in the wind than Quinn's average arm and timing style passing.

The only reason McDaniels tried to reconcile with Cutler is because he realized how much a bungling idiot he was after that meeting when trade interest was high. As many as ten teams I believed expressed interest in Cutler, and Josh probably realized this guy is better than he may think, which actually makes me question McDaniels as a head coach. Their only option now is to package him for multiple picks, but multiple picks don't normally equal franchise QB in terms of winning.

It would cost a looooooooooooooot more than Quinn. Cutler is worth at least two 1st rounders. AT LEAST. Probably a considerable amount more.

The only reason anyone can afford him at all is because Denver loses more leverage every day that passes and everytime someone in the organization acknowledges the acidity of the situation.

Detroit must be the most likely suitor, I think. The trade would probably be Stafford, their 3rd and a 2nd in 2010. Or something. Maybe the Broncos toss in someone like that DT from Florida.

Does anybody think the team that is going to pull for Cutler the most is a team that plans on hiring Mike Shanahan next season? I'd look for a coach on the hot-seat.

If the Broncos can’t trade Cutler, maybe they can get Madonna to adopt him.

My photoshop skills suck.

This is probably the most stunning mismanagement by an NFL coaching staff ever.

It was clumsy for sure, but we'll see how it turns out...all depends on how much Denver gets in a trade.

I don't want Cutler to go to the Skins because he's a strong-armed good young QB.

However, he has his flaws and I'm not talking about acting like a spoiled brat. I haven't looked at the stats but it seems that his performance fades as the season goes on. I saw a report on him last year that showed video of the team trainers constantly measuring his blood sugar during a game because it is so volatile. I know they say his diabetes is under control, but I wonder if it contributes to a drop in performance as the season wears on?

Cutler on the Vikings would be the biggest worry. With that rushing attack, teams no longer can stack the line. Adrian Peterson is going to run for 2000 yards. Next year, he would be a highlight reel waiting to happen times two. I hope they start showing Viking games on tv if it happens. It'll be fun to watch that rushing attack.

Kind of sounds familiar.

The only quarterbacks who worry me are Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. They are the only elite Qb's in the league.
Big Ben, Romo, McNabb, Brees, Rivers, Cutler, Eli, are a notch below them. Pathetic group of Qb's compared to the 90's older Montana, Aikman, Young, Favre, Elway,Marino, Kelly, Moon, Cunningham all elite/Hall of Fame Qb's.

I disagree on the pathetic part, but agree that those guys in the 90 were great.

For what it's worth, the Denver Examiner is reporting a deal in place...Cutler to SF for this year's 1st(10th overall) and 3rd, next year's 2nd, plus Alex Smith and Mark Rothman..EDIT...WRONG!!!!...I got taken on April 1st...

Tampa, Detroit, San Fran, Minnesota, Buffalo, Washington, Jets, Miami, Cleveland and Houston get ready for the bidding war. 10 teams inquired previously, chances are at least 7/10 of them are listed above.

Who thinks the Broncos would take Detroits first overall pick and their 3rd for Cutler and a 2nd?

Both teams would probably be better off for this trade.

That makes a lot of sense.

is there a link to that yet?

I could think up another scenario where the Jags get in the mix. They seem to be a QB away from getting back into the post season.

They could give up David Garrad and the 8th pick in the draft for Cutler. Garrad at least has had some success in the NFL. He had a good year two years ago and the draft pick is 5 spots ahead of what the Skins can offer. Two spots ahead of SF.
