It would cost a looooooooooooooot more than Quinn. Cutler is worth at least two 1st rounders. AT LEAST. Probably a considerable amount more.
The only reason anyone can afford him at all is because Denver loses more leverage every day that passes and everytime someone in the organization acknowledges the acidity of the situation.
Detroit must be the most likely suitor, I think. The trade would probably be Stafford, their 3rd and a 2nd in 2010. Or something. Maybe the Broncos toss in someone like that DT from Florida.
How do you figure that? Granted, Cutler was a Pro Bowler, but Quinn was a first round QB as well, who is ready to take over the starting job for an NFL team
this year. Add to that the fact that Quinn will know the offense the day he arrives in Denver, and will step right into the starting role. I think it could get done with Quinn and a third round pick. But that's only if the Browns want Cutler. If not, a third team would have to get involved and the Browns would be stuck with Anderson as their starter. I don't think the Browns would be happy with that, even if they get the Jets or the Bucs first rounder.
I cannot understan why people think the Broncos would trade Detroit. Your talking about a team that is on the doorstep of contention, and probably a playoff team in 2009. Why would they trade Cutler for a first round pick to draft a Rookie QB who probably wouldn't have even been a top 15 pick the year Cutler came out.
That will never happen. The only way that Detroit is even involved is if it's a three way thing, with another team involved. If you think that the Broncos will trade Cutler for the #1 pick in the draft, you must think the Broncos are willing to put their entire season on the left arm of Chris Simms. I just don't see that.
The Broncos will have to get a young franchise level QB in return. The only ones I can think off that may be available are Quinn and Leinart.
Who knows, maybe they will call the Chiefs and do a Cassell for Cutler deal. If I'm the Chiefs, I do that in a heartbeat.
