Broncos owner says Broncos will trade Cutler

Denver Broncos President and CEO Pat Bowlen released the following statement today:

"Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful.

A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.

We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

WOW!

You don't baby players like Wade supposedly does. The other end of the spectrum doesn't work either. Critics conveniently omit it. They'll be worse a team due to this move and most likely won't get a fair deal.

Wow.

I've never witnessed a more bungled, incompetent handling of a player. A franchise quarterbacks is very difficult to acquire, and a team should do everything in its power to keep him when it does find him--especially one with the physical attributes and young age of Culter.

I wonder if Detroit would be willing to trade the 1st pick for him. The cap hit for that pick is enormous and if they could get Cutler plus another pick for it they would be sitting pretty and not have that huge cap hit for an unproven player.

I would say Lions, Bucs and maybe Jets will be the front runners. Cutler is being a little ***** though.

Totally agree. Like I've said before, I don't think McDaniels has a clue what he's doing. He came in thinking he'd be a dictator like Belichick, and now he's about to be without one of the best young QBs in the game.

I bet Bowlen is wondering what he's gotten himself into.

Cutler's being ridiculous. If I were a GM I would be a bit worried about trading for him.

From what I've read, their new head coach was an absolute ******* to Cutler. I don't blame him.

Send him here. We'll give Bobby Carpenter, a 6th, and a 7th, but that's it.

I saw this coming. I don't think McDaniels has a clue or will be a success that much, or rather I see a slim chance, but boy Cutler sure seems to be a head case. Guy played three seasons and already has big head.

This makes you appreciate Tony Romo (for me anyway, since I don't have much faith in Tony Romo and never did). Because Romo has done more than Cutler, although he has been league more years, but still.

Cutler would have been whining and demanding trade because big bad Media has been mean to him, if he were in Dallas. Not counting all the former Cowboys who would have been critical of him at times.

Just watching him in the media, he seems like he's in way over his head.

Tampa, Detroit, San Fran, Minnesota, Buffalo, Washington, Jets, Miami, Cleveland and Houston get ready for the bidding war. 10 teams inquired previously, chances are at least 7/10 of them are listed above.

Who thinks the Broncos would take Detroits first overall pick and their 3rd for Cutler and a 2nd?

The wheel of karma goes round and round...
