Broncos would pay Romo $10M-$12M with heavy incentives

Romo is worth a pick switch that really doesn't matter, so we can give him a chance to beat us in the SuperBowl.

We are so smart.

Moving up 8 spots in the first round actually does matter...so clearly not all of us are smart o_O

There are probably 2-3 teams between that area who are probably going to pick a QB.

Pretty easy to see that the teams between those spots won't be picking who we want anyway, maybe 2 of them will. Not worth it.

I hear ya. But gotta take the best offer no? Better than a release I would imagine.

Yeah better than nothing, but that's close to nothing to me.

Can't believe they got a 1st rounder for that bum Bradford, then we get these kinda offers.

Oh well, every team in the league hates us, so its not surprising.

Gosh, for a guy "certain" to waived there are an awful lot of potential trade partners sending signals through the media about their trade intentions.

Who are all these trade partners?

And that desperation is why we're getting a crap ton of picks.

Lol and people are saying we should be happy with a 4th or 5th round pick at most....

QBs get paid even if your a career bum who sat behind a guy who likes throwing it to the other team....

Jerry should be selling romo to the Cardinals, Broncos, Minnesota, Jets, and of course Browns hard! He should remind them how much a good QB can improve their team now escpecially since most of those teams are in "windows" with good/decent defenses.

Can't they rework Romo's deal in a trade? Just swap firsts and you get Romo and let's all move on...

"The Broncos would be willing to pay $10-12 million per season as part of an incentive-heavy deal, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis said on a recent episode of Denver vs., a new TV show hosted by Mile High Report’s Ian Henson.

“Romo would take that deal,” Clarence Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram tweeted on Friday evening, referencing the $10-12 million price range."

I was curious about this too. I wasn't sure exactly how much an NFL contract could really be reworked

You have to factor in things like age, injury history, etc. That all affects value.

Is Romo better than Glennon? Sure. But Glennon is younger and all it costs you is money.

Romo would cost you money AND draft picks. And there's a chance (probably a decent one) that he gets hurt again. So then did you get value for him? That's why thinking he's worth a first round pick, multiple first round picks, whatever people are saying is unrealistic. We are trading a 37 year old QB who hasn't played a full game in two seasons and has both collarbone and back problems. As much as you guys want to think otherwise, that's going to significantly affect his value. I think a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year and then maybe a 2nd-3rd rounder next year would be a pretty decent deal for us.

But I hope people are right and we get a first rounder for him.

Someone's going to cough up a good deal.

Hopefully it's before the draft so we can use all those glorious picks in this defensive draft.

I understand your logic but for a team like the broncos chiefs or cardinals who are a good QB away from a SB run why throw the dice on a career backup cause he might have a future?

It seems that some NFL get lost in building like their a damn baseball team I'm sorry but these guys retire at earlier ages or are replaced and you lose key pieces sometimes via FA win.. and win now which is how we should be with our defense

I don't think pointing out when something is stupid is a waste of time.

Yes he can rework his contract. No i don't believe Ian Henson knows what DEN would be willing to pay, and no I don't believe for a second Clarence Hill knows what Romo might accept, or from whom.
I believe Cousins would take a deal in the 24m a year range.

I have no sources.

But I'm confident enough I'd bet your life on it. And I like you.
