Any expert want to chime in on the risk of of any serious injury if you return to the field, not from a concussion, but from a lack of blood flow due to being choked out? I've watched that Mahomes tackle several times and never once saw his helmet make contact with the defender or the ground (was close to the ground). It simply looked like the effect of someone putting you in a sleeper hold, for a brief period. I know the NFL is more than precautious now with concussions, but this looks like apples vs oranges, is there any risk of a more serious injury related to this if he had returned?

If he plays next week it’s because he passed the concussion protocol. Any defender that intentionally goes head to head with Mahomes is not only running the risk of being disqualified from the game and fined by the league but suspended for games the following year. The way the NFL protects QBs no one is going to go after Mahoney’ head intentionally.
You never played rugby did ya.

So a head coach for the Browns still has not won a playoff game.

He went into Garrett mode the last time Cleveland had the ball.

I guess he...

(a) was just glad to be there
(b) was protecting his franchise QB for making a mistake
or
(c) doesn't trust his QB
