For those interested, bloggingtheboys.com has a list of the players on the Team's 2013 Draft Board. You will notice 5 of the top 18 players fell to Dallas at 18. He also said his source told him it was Jerrys decision alone to pass on Floyd.

Good or bad. this will give us (1) Insight on what the Scouts drafting thoughts were and is some of the problem with them and (2) Just how good or bad Jerrys drafting really is (3) If this list is valid, then it shows how bad the Teams security is to let this list get out. Might as well mail them a list of our playbook. I believe this list has strong validity.

This list gives most fans more perspective on the inner workings than they've ever seen.

Go to website, bloggingtheboys.com, then on right side of page under "Recommended" you will find an article titled 2013 Cowboys Draft Board. Scroll down to Comments and approx. 3/4 down this version you will find a text version of the approx. 117 players. About four pages. I don't know how to Post this to CZ, but possibly u can do this for the fans.

Six of the seven picks were rated in the third round or better on the Cowboys Draft Board. So this shows really good value overall for their picks. Also of the approx. 117 players on their board, only two were not drafted. The Team signed them to the 90 man roster--Brandon Magee and Jakar Hamilton.

Assuming the Teams board was good or better than good, then the team overall seems to have done pretty well.

I'm not a JJ fan at all, but I do not believe it was Jerry's decision alone to pass on Floyd.

Well, if true, then this clearly lays to rest the theory that Floyd was not highly regarded by the team and it also lays to rest the idea that Fredrick was a 2nd or 3rd round pick on the Cowboys board. For my money, he was, but clearly the team didn't think so. It is disappointing to see us undercut our own board and scouting staff but I understand the reasoning. Clearly Jerry and perhaps others on the team felt as if OL was a bigger need and so we took Fredrick. I mean, that's probably a true evaluation, OL probably is the biggest need on the team so I get it. I don't believe in this method of drafting but it's done. I think we got a solid player and now we just have to figure out a way to fill in the gaps.

A lot about this off season I don't agree with but what's new? It's behind us now so no sense crying over it. It's done.

I think he had final word. As he has always said he's the tie breaker. Kiffin and Marinelli made it easy for him to pass and go with the last OL they thought could start as a rookie.

so all that talk about being true to our board was pure BS(assuming this is true).we drafted for need multiple times.

What are you talking about? Aside from the first round (which we usually use o shore up our biggest need), they went by the board for the most part.

Frederick was listed on the Board as a 2nd round pick. Anytime there was a break in names there was a round change. So going from 18 to 19 there was a break and on their board 19 was the start of 2nd round.

No. They may have evaluated him as a 2nd round pick but strictly speaking, he was the 21st player listed on their board. That makes him a 1st round pick.

I understand what you are saying but the Draft consisted of 31 picks in the 1st round I believe so he was a 1st round pick on their board. Just not a 1st round talent.

I thought all along something strange went on with Floyd.

I will say this, at least according to Dallas' board, they got two top 25 players in return for that 18th pick.

Still, passing on a top 5 ranked talent (according your own team's board) at 18 is crazy.

I responded to the point , you made, about the Cowboys not having him on their Board in the 2nd or 3rd round. It did not have anything to do with if he was selected in the numerical tradition of 1st rounders of 1-31. The key to your point was their board as 2nd or 3rd round, He was listed as 2nd round on their board. I know what your saying but that is not the point you made.

Have a good day.

Remember the two top 25 players were only top 25 on the Cowboys Board. Multiple players were left off the Teams board, for various reasons, but if all the players had been included then the Teams two top 25 would have most probably wound up in the 3rd round. So while two top 25 sounds great, in reality if taken in the context of the overall draft it's not as great as it first seems.

My take overall, is that the draft overall seems to be about as good as we could expect. I think more of these draftees will compete as starters or backups then draftees in years past.

Yeah, top 25 on their board.

No way top 25 otherwise

It absolutely is the point I made. I know this because, well, I was the one making the point. That's how it works. When you make a point, you too can be assured of the fact that it is your point to make.

Thanks for the good day wishes.

we had Floyd rated ahead of Frederick, T.will rated ahead of escobar,Webb rated ahead of Wilcox, magee ahead of hollowman.

Anyone have a guess as to who this is they have ranked in the 5th round?

k johnson n/a

I've even searched for an undrafted guy under Johnson and came up with nothing, except J. Johnson-Webb(OT).

You are talking about nominal differences in rankings, and they have said that will draft for need where there isn't a major difference in rankings.
