The standard around here isn’t winning a ring. It’s getting to the nfc champ game
That might have been the Bar in the older championship eras. But Jethro and Son have lowered the Bar this era.

What do you mean the QB's havent helped? Nonsense. Neither has had the coaching or team around them to get beyond the 2nd round.

Was either Cowboys team better than the Niners the last two years? Definitely NOT. Those losses were predictable and what should have happened.

And Dak is a better QB than both Purdy and Garrappollo. So its about the team around each QB. Case and point.

Romo would drive the team down for the winning score, then the defense would cave and lose the game many times.
Both games were winnable games. But the one common factor. Dak failed in both games. Against 2 different QB”s.
There is no other way to put it. Your beloved Dak failed. Period.

Most of us that defend Dak accurately defend that he is a top 10 QB. Nothing more, nothing less. Havent heard anyone here claim he is elite.

The overboard is one sided clearly.

There are the realists and then the dead wrong trolls. They have been wrong about Dak since day #1.

Slowly changing their opinions over time from Backup material, to bus driver, to average and been wrong about all of it.
The problem is he often does play at Top 10 level. Other times he’s closer to average maybe top 15.

Bottomline like most NFL teams without an Elite QB, Prescott is enough to build around. The bigger problem is why have swayed in building around him.

Initially we built a dominating running game . Recently we’ve tried to build him a more prolific passing game.

Maybe not Mahomes but how about Burrow or Josh Allen. You have to try to find the next stud QB. You just sit back and draft 6th round projects with very limited potential and you’re never going to get what you want. Dak did look like complete trash against the 49ers. Anyone that can't see that needs to get their eyes checked.
Actually that isn’t how the NFL works. That might be how some fans want it to work. But when you find a QB good enough to lead you to the playoffs , generally teams make him their Franchise QB and try to build around him.

So if we had Geno piloting our offense, that would lead to us to being more competitive against the Niners? Is this what you're implying?
Just making an observation feel free to draw your own conclusions. If we could have scored more than 12 points we would have been more competitive. If that was Zeke's fault problem fixed, he's gone. If it was Moore's play calling problem fixed he's gone. If it was that we didn't have enough offensive weapons for Dak problem fixed they added Brandon Cooks.

TEAMS score points so your right THEY didn’t score enough
You think? 12 points usually doesn't get it done. They've changed just about everything else. new OC added Brandon Cooks new OL coach cut zeke new RB coach, so I guess we'll try again next year and hope for better results.

While Prescott obviously didn’t play well against the 49ers, their #1 defense deserves credit as well.

Even some of the better or Elite QB’s don’t fare as well against top defenses. The 49ers defense is apparently not a good matchup for us.

There shouldn’t be shame in losing to better teams.

Same fans defending Dak would've defended Steve Pelluer and Gary Hogboom just because they were QBs for the Cowboys. We've seen seven years of Dak Trashcott. He is what he is. You want Dak to succeed? You better get him Bijan Robinson and a great offensive line. Dak isn't taking this team to a Super Bowl championship with his arm.
You Dak trolls practically disappeared from this forum a week after the 49ers loss. You had no ammo to defend him.

He tries as hard as he can without actually saying it, but he clearly thinks plenty of Cowboy fans are as clueless as ever. My favorite line of the article right here. Almost word for word what some of us joke around about:

I get it. A quarterback is absolute trash unless he wins a Super Bowl. The success of a team is only determined by his play. All you have to do is go out and draft the next Patrick Mahomes.
Man that is infuriating to read. Nobody says this. If you cant get Maholmes then you build a strong roster around a rookie QB deal like SF, and Philly just did. Paying elite money to a non elite QB is a death blow. Who is Tom Ryle and why should anybody listen to him?

"It is just irritating, at least to me, to see people who think the Cowboys can easily upgrade the quarterback position. This is both a severe undervaluing of what Prescott brings to the table and an equally inaccurate overestimation of the likelihood of drafting a viable replacement. And when they do have to find a replacement, there is a real chance we will soon be longing for the level of play he provides now."

The writer of this article said it best...^^^
Couldn't have said it any better.

Glad you’re one of the clueless who thinks Dak is so wonderful, winning a superbowl let’s get real guy hasn’t made it to a championship game let alone a SB. At this point the only reality is Dak plays mediocre but gets paid as elite and his greatest trait is choking. Clueless Roy loves mediocrity in a QB tell us what the new excuses will be this season, he has a hang nail?

Extremely simplistic take, even for you Roy.

Nobody thinks any of those three ridiculous assertions.

Here's my own conspiracy spin on this. The Cowboys have already decided that Dak is not likely to be the long-term answer. I see them drafting another 4th round QB and groom Dak's replacement. They won't say it out loud. But the big secret is that Dak won't stay healthy for an entire season and they are quietly preparing to move on.
