you didn't anticipate? you should have come to this board. most people here were talking about it way before. its you job to anticipate these things. you are responsible for this roster. how could you have not anticipated Zeke struggling? oh yeah, you just wanted to see what he can do!!!!!

btw, Jerry, this is what makes you a bad GM. signing Zeke who everyone in NFL knows is done, just to see what he can do, vs. paying 3M to sign Henry...I know why, you had a whole bunch of Zeke Jersey's in inventory you had to get rid of. you didn't even bother to make #15 jerseys and still selling #21 Zeke jerseys....

Jerry is the same thing he has always been ....... a "Carny" and great promoter.

He won in the early 90's because he surrounded himself with old school football guys and rubber stamped Jimmy Johnson's decisions, with no salary cap.

Now he surrounds himself with lap dogs and boot kissers and has an unqualified person (Stephen Jones has a Chemical Engineering degree) running his cap.

Those are the only things that has changed.

When fans here say Jerry knows more about football than us.

The “us” in this equation were screaming this was a throwaway season all year long. Jerry. You don’t know what you’re doing. It’s time to pass the baton.

We threw a fit all off season and now all of his chicken have come home to roost. Like literally everything we were concerned about lol.

It's been that way for decades. The problems we point out here on the fan boards are why we don't have playoff wins.

These articles are useless. TO ratio has always been strongly correlated with winning and losing since the time stats started being collected in the game. And since QBs typically have most of them on a team, they’re likely mostly responsible for them.
It’s always assumed that turnovers are why teams lose. But maybe turnovers are the result of an overmatched team trying to overcome talent.

Every fan knew we needed a RB, some talent at #2 WR, and more DL help.
Every fan also knew there would be growing pains with two rookie OLmen starting at spots they didn’t play in college.

Not having threats at RB and WR outside of Lamb just made the OL’s job even harder.

On the other hand, no fan anticipated this many injuries at DL resulting in no pass rush or at CB.
I did.

Well done. If you're D is based solely on getting TO's, then you have a bad D. I've seen that work one time in all my NFL watching days: The 09 Saints. Only time ever. And that took a perfect storm and the #1 O in the NFL. And was never close to being repeated.

Yes, those were simple to see. The defense was harder to predict. No way we could have anticipated losing Parsons, Lawrence, Kneeland and Williams. It would have been hard to see the Bland injury coming (although we should have retained Gilmore with Diggs coming off an ACL tear). Fans knew we were still deficient at DT, though.

You have to wonder what McCarthy said to the Joneses about our FA moves, or lack of them. It's understandable if his hands were tied, but if he just sat there and was OK with these moves, he's no better at personnel than the front office. Of course, it may have been more like, "We've got to pay our QB and top receiver, so we'll give you a running back, but we're only going to spend the minimum on him." McCarthy: "OK. I'll be able to make it work."

Oh, and TO's are only the reason a team loses when two teams are very evenly matched. When a TO based D comes up against a ball control O, the ball control O almost always wins. Our TO's did us no good vs GB, for instance, as they drove up and down the field on us at will. Yards matter, and matter a great deal. Why? Because playoff caliber teams turn those yards into points, as well as wearing out the D. When evaluating any D, yards are by far the most important factor.
