Right. Not only that, but most people stop working entirely well before that age, even in positions that aren’t nearly as difficult or competitive.

The answer for me goes both ways on this one….Jerry isn’t actually the GM. The kid is there to reel him in, and I’d suspect McClay and his staff does the brunt of the actual work. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Need one persons vision and sink or swim with it.

The whole…’you get your way this time, I’ll get my way next time’ deal won’t add up…but Jerry needs to keep the title so he can potentially claim it was all him…if they win.

Probably very moot, but Jerry thinks so much of himself and his offspring that his claim that he is surprised at the results of this year is probably genuine.
I gave you a like due to your last sentence!!!! I think that is true.

I do think, however, that Jerry has a ton more sayso than you think he does!!!

The Trance trade was 100% GM Jethro's decision. So he obviously has sayso.

No one they collectively make that stupid of a decision. That has Jerry written all over it.

Jerry don't care. No one who saw this roster before camp, saw the scheduled opponents sat there and thought this year will be easy.

I knew this year would be dismal and I am far from a football expert. You could see the struggles last year and the humiliated playoff exposed the reality that is this team.

Thx for the like! Risen is clearly nervous.

Tough to say on the Jerry thing, and we are both just guessing, but it feels to me that over the last handful of years the way things have been approached sounds a lot more like Stephen than a guy who got where he is by taking risks and also doesn’t have a ton of time left.

I think we can agree that McClay and his underlings probably do nearly, if not all of the actual GM work, then the other two chime in and decide what to do/not do without having any type of informed and/or unified vision for a plan. That’s why things appear to be all over the place.

In the end, what they do hasn’t worked and for some reason they don’t feel as if that’s a reason to even consider change.

Nonsense title to the article.

he didn’t say he didn’t anticipate a challenging season, he said he didn’t antipate it being this rough.

That is close enough to being the same thing.

This is textbook leadership 101 right here. “I don’t foresee the disaster I built.”

"I didn't anticipate that spoonful of salt tasting so salty."
"...that water being so wet..."
"that fire actually burning me.."

I know there is an interesting and unexpected story coming when my wife starts a conversation with, "... you know, in Russia..."

After listening to me discuss the Cowboy's state of affairs, she commented,

"You know, in Russia, when the oligarch starts losing his grip, the next in command just removes him and business returns to normal.

The problem with the Cowboys is no one has the ball$ to remove Jones and, even if they did remove him, the next in command is dumber than Jerry."

This pearl of wisdom is from someone that doesn't watch or understand football, couldn't pick Jerry Jones out of a police lineup, but tolerates my fandom.

:lmao:
And yet, your wife nailed it!
