Henry Melton doesn't count either since he had an option that wasn't picked up rather than his contract ending. There is also a 4 comp pick limit.

I think they missed Dwayne Harris as a loss

If Spencer does not qualify, it won't be because his contract is not fothr enough money. The threshold for qualifying is well below $1 million. This year, for example, Ed Dickson qualified even though his contract was an MSB deal with a $730,000 base salary and $65,000 signing bonus.

Spencer will qualify for the equation if he lasts long enough with the Saints and gets enough playing time (or suffers a major injury).

Doesn't it depend on the Top 32 and how much number 32 makes?

I would have no interest in Spencer taking a single snap away from Hardy, Lawrence and Gregory.

I agree with this but because Mincey can replace Spencer. But I also think you're right in that the guys you mentioned is or will be better than Spencer has been over his entire career here.

Thanks for the info.

It'd be nice if Anthony Spencer helps get us another compensatory selection next year.

Mickey Spagnola relayed during the draft that the expectation in house is that they are currently in line to get three picks.

Four is the maximum allowed.

Not for whether he qualifies. It would only matter if we are eligible to receive a comp pick for him but there are 32 other comp picks awarded for players with a higher value in the equation.

The big question for us is how Hardy's suspension affects his value in the comp equation.

The best of what is left at RB is probably Chris Johnson or Moreno................between the two, I would go with Chris Johnson first and see if he has anything left in the tank. Unlike McFadden, Johnson actually has put up good numbers on crap teams like the Titans and Jets. He had a 4.3 average playing with Div 3 caliber QB last season in New York.

Just saying.

OK thanks.

So the League goes team by team and subtracts all qualified players signed from all qualified players lost.

Teams that signed more than they lost or broke even are eliminated.

Out of the teams that lost more than they signed, they start awarding picks based on the formula starting with the 3rd round picks and working down to the 7th round picks, maximum of 4 per team.

When they hit 32 picks they stop.

Here is a question. Players with low salaries get play based bonuses. I believe factors in most for rookie contracts, but if say a guy at the vet minimum earns say 250,000 in these bonuses ( if they can) does that factor into the comp equation

I still don't understand how someone can produce that much liquid from their tear ducts in such a relatively short time. They aren't tears, they're contiguous streams of water, lol.

If you're looking to replace the "tough yards" that Murray used to pick up, Moreno is your guy. I was really impressed watching him in both Denver and Miami grinding out tough yards and keeping his legs going for that extra 2 yards. He didn't play much in Miami last season but the games that I watched (I picked him up as a late round pick in FFL last season) I was actually surprised that he had that type of power.

Chris Johnson goes down when a defensive player sneezes in his direction. He's a whole lot of "nope" for me, personally.

That's basically it, but teams that "break even" can get a comp pick if the value of the players lost significantly outweighs the value of the players signed. Those are seventh-round picks and come after all of the comp picks awarded to teams that lost more than they signed, but before the "filler" comp picks, if any. Of course, if there are already 32 comps awarded, those are not awarded.

What about Melton? (his contract was an option not picked up)
Also Jed Collins $880k or Keith Rivers $660K?

Melton would qualify (declined options don't disqualify players). Collins probably qualifies, but it might depend on his playing time (if he even makes the team). Rivers was cut by the Bills, so he would not count.

Surprised you guys want No Show Moreno. He's underachieved and has been injured his entire career.

His last season carrying the load (2013) he rushed for more than 1,000 yards, 4.3 per carry and 10 TDs. Even last year, he averaged 4.8 per carry on 31 carries.

What did McFadden do his last two seasons?

So I believe this is the setup and would show the 3 comps Mickey said they currently appear to be set up to receive. Cuts could change that. 8-5=3 Players not bolded are cut possibilities.

Hardy 1 yr $13M
Brinkley 2 yr $6.5M $3.25M AVG
Gachkar 2 yr $5.2M $2.6 ($1.2M SB)
McFadden 2yr $3M $1.5M AVG ($200K SB)
Jed Collins 1 yr $810K

Murray 5 yr $40M 8M AVG
Parnell 5 yr $32M $6.4M AVG
Carter 4 yr $17M $4.25M AVG
Melton $3.75M ($1M SB)
Durant 3 yr $10.8M $3.6M AVG ($1.25M SB)
Harris 5 yr $17M $3.5M AVG (4M SB)
Selvie $1.2M ($200K SB)
Spencer $950K
