Since when has Jerry been bashful about handing out money for a guy he wants? Heck its his best quality.

More likely Jones wanted to be clever and outsmart everyone by signing Wiley instead.

Wahle was never in VR and available, Berry was.

And if Berry simply wasn't a possibility as you are implying, what did you want Parcells to do about it? Wiley was the next 'best' thing on the market. Its not like there 5 quality pass rushers available that offseason and we passed on all of them.

Berry hasn't played more than 10 games in a season since 2004. He signed for more than $5 mil a year. You sure you want to keep on with this?

He was great in 2004 and this argument was ll the vogue at the end of that season. Now? Not so much.

oh boy. there really is no point in talking to you about this, you never give an inch or will ever admit anyone else has any idea what they are talking about.

and here is a little secret, I did nothing but compliment jerry during 03-06. he let his people make all the decisions, he let bill rebuild the front office, he let bill kick out the media etc.

I never complained about jerry during those times. I never understood the george signing but that was nothing.

this idea that you keep proclaiming that I had some issue with the man during those seasons is wrong. I was pretty happy.

In fact I have said many times that 05 team is one of my favorite teams. Nothing but good people, people worth rooting for. They werent the most talented or the super bowl favorite, but they operated as one. The team had shortcomings and it did them in. But I still enjoyed them. and they would bounce right back after getting beat.

Jerry played a part in putting together that team, and I really loved that team.

but please keep talking to me like I think I know everything and then in the next breath tell me again how you know your smarter than most people.

good grief.

Make a point worth a damn and I'll admit it. You were right on Bledsoe so I softened my stance.

And you may have been nice back then but now you have your revisionist glasses on. Otherwise whats with Marcellus Wiley?

What are you Jerrys babysitter

You bring up guys like zuriel smith, but neglect obvious things like romo.

You said parcells only had 1 good season, to which I countered 03 and 05
You complain about testaverde but neglect the fact that he was brought here to be a backup and a mentor to the young guys on the roster. And in fairness he threw for over 3000 yards and double digit touchdowns, without terry glenn.

So I brought up eddie george, wiley and henson to rebut your comment that parcells made all the decisions. The reality is he made most of the decisions. Mostly excellent ones. He missed on a number also, like rodgers, sean ryan, bobby carpenter and peterman.

the good outweighs the bad by a large margin.

But I guess I am just an arrogant hack who knows nothing and is the president of the parcells fan club. So that is fine with me.

were tremendous offseasons, from coaching staff hires, front office restructuring and the drafts.

I never said Parcells made all the decisions and its looking more and more like we are arguing based on different assumptions. As a coach I have no issue with Parcells beyond being afraid of new schemes. In terms of discipline and leadership he is one of the best ever.

I HATE Parcells the offseason guy. It got to the point where I dreaded the term 'Parcell's guys' and the obvious inputs into the drafts would infuriate me.

Romo is the perfect example of that. In fairness I do not think that Parcells or Jones can take credit for getting Romo to come here. I give that credit to Sean Payton. What Parcells does deserve credit for is developing and most of all starting midseason Romo. The entire Cowboys nation should tahnk him for that.

Carpenter may be a bad draft pick but while Parcells was here, Carp was working out.

Really, our drafts and FA moves have been good lately. We have retained our home grown guys and brought in solid players.

What your talking about is the boogeyman. Evil Jerry which you cannot even name some specifics. Whatever I am done with that game.

HUH? You accused me as you always do of saying its the jerry does nothing right and parcells is great.

I clearly pointed out to you that I do not feel that way. And you start with your remarks and tell me to make a point worth a damn and I am pretty sure I did.

and no one gets credit for romo coming here. He saw the most pathetic qb situation in the league in quincy/hutch/stoerner and saw the quickest path to the field.

I am sure the fact that Jerry pays undrafted free agents more than any other owner didnt hurt and the fact that bill parcells is a legend and is willing to give young qb's a chance made Dallas attractive.

What parcells gets credit for when it comes to romo is, installing the work ethic, forcing to romo to get the most out of himself he could and surrounding him with terrific coaches in David lee, Tony sporano, Sean Payton, Todd Haley and early on Mo carthon. He wasnt rushed and he was brought up the old school way. that is what bill gets credit for.

the 07 draft is turning out to be terrible.

Ken hamlin was a below average player this year.

he got hosed on 3 trades in the offseason.

He brought the three real boogeymen in the nfl into a great locker room.

Why does he not deserve critiscm. Guys like me loathe this style of managing, had he not brought in those three stooges even I wouldnt have a complaint about jerry because I would have believed he wised up. But he clearly hasnt.

the fact that you insult everyone else for even questioning what jerry has done in the last two years speaks volumes.

I honestly didnt think it was funny.

I was doing backflips the day we found out we were getting Parcells. Then after 4yrs of mediocrity I couldnt wait for him to leave.

I'm consistent with him, I've said since before he was gone that he did a good job with certain aspects, but COACHING the team wasnt something he did "GOOD" at.

Well since the accusers love to jump me on every topic because they claim I think I know everything, then in turn tell me how wrong I am on everything I guess I am neither and both.

and you are welcomed aboard. We can sit back and have them teach us lessons on how arrogantly dumb we are and how humbly smart they are.

Whatever

It's called "ROI"

He wasnt worth 4.5mils for the record he produced...and then to not win a playoff game either, well.

I guess it comes down to expectations. I expected more from him, a HOF calibar coach paid an elite amount of money. Some of you apparently are fine with 9-7 seasons that result in no postseason success. Some of us are not.

I dont think anyone thinks you are dumb Theebs, at least I know I dont.

I just think you are too much of a homer for Parcells.
