If he were a "lockdown corner", nobody would be saying a word about him going to safety. His stock would be through the roof and he would be a lot more highly regarded than he is.

In this case, people are viewing his versatility as a plus. I don't see it that way.

Would you spend the 4th choice in this draft on a Byron Jones clone?
Most overrated player in this draft. His play really slipped when he went to corner, ans he cant make plays at Safety.

Mo was supposed to be a lock down corner.

Which I could never understand with him running a 4.52 40. Never in the history of the draft can I remember the top rated corner with a 40 time that slow. He was the top rated defensive player in the draft who was slow and wasn't physical.

Spend picks and free agent money on pass rushers. CB'S are overrated. (Risen Star would agree I bet.)

I think BJones and Ramsey is a fair comparison for this forum. Are they clones no, but for discussion purposes it is fine. Ramsey is a good CB and a better FS, few would disagree with this assessment. I personally think the kid from Clemson M.Alexander might be a better fit for the boys, in my mind VH III is a press/ man, either way these two are the trophies(rd1) in the CB race this year. At pick 4 a "shutdown" CB makes sense, but so does a QB, Right DE, or Left Tackle that is the chart value of the pick vs position.
I have my fingers crossed the scouts see something in the QB's that warrant using the pick at four. At this point in time the QB's talents are well disguised for a top five pick IMO. Next up are LT(we are set), RDE, and Island CB. Cannot wait to see what's ahead for us.

If I had my way.......and we had the picks......I would definitely overhaul our secondary. I would put 3 picks at CB and 3 at S. I would keep Scandrick and Mitchell at CB. I keep Jones at S, maybe one of our other S.

Now remember, I say this with the notion we have the picks to do so......

3 CBs
4-5 rd - Cyrus Jones - aggressive, physical, ball hawking, and a great KR
3-4 rd - Harlan Miller - tall, aggressive, ball hawking.....needs a little refinement with technique
6-7 rd - Chris Poole - a physical defender, a playmaker

3 S
1-2 rd - Darian Thompson - a ball hawk - 19 ints in college
2-3 rd - Javon Kearse - big, physical cam chancellor type
4-5 rd - Kevin Byard - a ball hawk - 19 ints in college

I would not want a CB @ #4...but, if they do a trade back of any type and THEN the CB is the BPA, I could live with that...still want play makers, regardless of positon

I might be a bit biased as I watched all of the Boise St. games, but this guy would be ideal. He is also big (6'2" 212) enough to play up in run support and was second on the team with 63 tackles including 7.5 for a loss, so he would be a good fit with Jones. All of this came despite missing several games with injury.

Keep in mind that the staff seems to like Boise players, he was a team captain, and our coaches will get a real up close look at him since he will be at the Senior Bowl.

I'm not impressed by the draft pool at CB. So glad, OScan is coming back to us next season. I'd resign Mo and show Carr the door. Then we have to solve the Carr replacement puzzle though free agency. Keep Jones at safety... when he plays CB it just hurts us at two positions.

Ramsey's best trait is versatility. His playmaking overall has been lacking, but I do think he will be a good player in the NFL. I think he profiles best as a FS.

For me, even though he doesn't have the interception numbers, I would take Mackensie Alexander first out of the corners. He's physical, cocky and a very good player. I wouldn't take him at 4, though.

For you BPA guys, answer this for me. If the Cowboys are up at 4 and Tunsil is the BPA do you take him? You get to the second round and the BPA is C Nick Martin do you take him? In the third round the BPA is a RG, do you take him?

I was messing with that draft simulator site, and a similar scenario came up.
1. Tunsil OT
2. Jaylen Smith OLB (injured)
3. Nick Martin C
Those were the BPA when I used the simulator. If those 3 players were taken, would you be happy?

Since you are not hard locked into draft pick, if the player you covet is still there at 4 and someone wants to trade with you and you gain picks and say move down 4 spots you do it. When you are drafting high you take BPA at a position of need to a degree. I would not take a WR or OL at 4 if that is the BPA.
