Bruce Carter is the new Kevin Burnett. Athletic, good cover guy with speed who fans were upset left and then becomes available and Cowboys aren't interested. They should be with Carter IMO.

I'm trying to finger out who he'd be pushing off the roster If signed tomorrow. Regardless of who that may be I'm only doing it if Ro signed elsewhere.

Got to keep it moving forward. To heck with Durant as well

He only shows up in about one of every four games.

According to Gil Brandt, and his word is gold now a days, Carter is one of the most talented LB to come out in recent year, but does not love football, it is not important to him.

various:

Losing your job to Kwon Alexander isn't bad, but not getting any of three LB spots as a big free agent kinda is.

Scheme-wise he should know any 4-3 out there. If he doesn't we definitely need to stay away because Marinelli may only have 1 more year here.

Dallas could use Carter and Durant if the price is right buy they are both no more than 2.5m a year guy. --we paid Ro McClain 2.6 last year and he is better than both. --even high and concussed he is better.

The problem for Carter is he has only lasted off insane athleticism. As he ages and that wanes he's got nothing unless he changes the way he studies and prepares.
And if he played alongside Sean Lee for a few years and didn't pick up study habits, he isn't going to now imho.

I'd be very interested in Durant. I'd plan on him getting 8 games in at a very solid level. So you pay him half a legit starting LB salary and ask him to be LB4 imho.

that unfortunatey gets beat a lot in coverage because he has zero awareness.
it really is weird. on tape in college he was as close to myles jack as i have seen but we have seen carter get eaten up badly by runnign backs out of the backfield. ---in college he took WRs.

Yeah, I really think if we aren't spending $ on any of the big free agents, then Carter is a guy we should bring back.

I don't think we were at all sorry to see him go, and I'd be surprised if we brought him back.

Durant, we wanted. And I'm expecting him to return.

Good special teams player too. Would take Gachkar's place as the special teams LB backup except one we actually trusted to play in a game.

Still young and athletic and started playing better in this scheme after taking a while to figure it out like others have said. Heck yeah I'll take him back. And for more than the vet min; give him Gachkar's contract.

 No way Carter is coming back. He's a gifted athlete, but I'm pretty he still doesn't actually understand the game of football. For every nice play he makes he'll make 2 boneheaded mistakes. Rod kept him off of the field as much as he could his last year here, pretty sure he won't be welcomed back to the LB rotation
