Vision, balance, leg strength, speed and heart
I don't think $30M later Mcfadden will be able to handle the NFL on and off the field.....

I hope steven keeps making the point to Jerrah at just how much CAP SPACE McFadden would eat up. We get mcfadden and signing Newman and Ware in the next couple of years becomes virtually impossible.
AND FOR WHAT? maybe a few hundred more yds a year rushing? maybe a couple of extra TDs? THAT is all we would be gaining over what MB3 is giving us RIGHT NOW.

If there is one thing Mr. Jones does well, its not making the same mistake twice.

JJ has made his share of errors in judgement, but he is a better informed and more prudent owner now because of his errors.

Hence the reason why I see no relevance in Mortensons' claim, other than typical media headline grabbing diatribe.

Heres a headline for ya Mort... Dallas believes they are one player away from achieving SuperBowl greatness, and trade away two first round picks to Seattle for Joey Galloway. Gee, we all saw how that turned out didnt we?

Jerry wont make the same mistake twice, I would be willing to wager a signifigant amount of my FF winnings on this horse.

Just dont see it happening, even though I knew an old man once, that had actually been struck by lightning twice in his life, poor old *******.

Jerry isnt spawned from the same ilk as a little Danny boy, I gotta pocket full of marbles Snyder, that thanks that his bank roll inheritence is his ticket to success. Jerry earned his money and his knowledge by playing the game.

That, we can all thank our lucky stars for.

There really is no story other than the Arkie McFadden angle.

That trade happens I'm jumping off the Tobin Bridge.

It is probably foolish enough to trade into the top 5 anymore, let alone do it for a running back.

Definitely one of the most important, but not #1 IMO.

Guess it depends on the offense you run and the opinion of the guy calling the plays.

I prefer a RB with great vision first and foremost. Maybe it's just cuz that's the only stand out part of my game back when I was a RB in high school. :D

Put me on board with taking Felix Jones over his running mate. Felix won't be taken anywhere near the top ten. Which bodes well for us.

If Arkansas players give Jerry wood, then by all means go after Felix.

I agree w/ you. This reminds me of something I heard once about eggs and one basket or something like that...

I think the ONLY away you will see a trade up is this way:

  • Jerry Jones tenders an offer to Marion Barber that would require Miami to give up a first and third round pick to sign Barber.
  • Parcells bites on the deal and signs him anyway. Then we have 3 first rounders

I don't see this happening.

I don't think we give Jones enough credit from learning from his past mistakes. He knows the value of the draft picks, and unless there is a deal that's too good to be true (like what I just described), he is not trading them away.

Plus we have to remember, Dallas has the leverage here. Barber is a RFA. Do you really think Dallas will let him go for nothing? If Miami wants him that bad it is going to cost them since he is a RFA.

you know I guess I'm still on the other side, remember when we could have had Steven Jackson and we got Spears and JJ instead, I mean maybe we're all wrong and this guy might actually live up to his billing and we are one right player away draft wise. All this trading down doesn't always work, we got two so-so players instead of one star. Yea Galloway didn't work out but neither did some of these trade down picks either..

I got an idea, we find a good quality DB from free agency. Then we trade Barber, #22 pick & 3rd round pick for McFadden. We draft Felix Jones with our #28. Trade for Fitzy or R. Williams with our 2nd round pick. Trade M. Spears or B. Carpenter for a 3rd round pick. Then use the 3rd round pick for a speed WR or Chris Johnson and use him as a punt returner/WR.

Will that make u forget about M. Barber?:lmao2:
