Burger King- Thinks Cowboys will cut TO

Pretty much everyone is saying it. Even the ones who think it won't happen believe Jerry will balk at the last second, but it'll still be a close call.

I think he's done here, especially with Garrett coming back.

We're not going to be a better football team without Owens. Period. He's not nearly the headache everyone makes him out to be. When he complains about not getting the ball, often it's a valid complaint and every WR does it. If anything it was bad playcalling and poor o-line play was our downfall. We can be a good offense with out T.O., but the only way we'll be the best is with him.

The other issue his age. If he were 25-28 it might be different, but his best days are clearly behind him. He isnt going to get better at this point.

I think overall it will be good for the long term maturation of the team. They rely too much on Owens to draw double-coverage as it is. Without Owens, all our receivers will have to work harder to become better players or they will have to b e replaced.. Owens in many ways probably brings a certain amount of lazyness to our other receivers and even to Romo. I could be way off here but I think the team will work as a more well oiled machine without Owens there. I think with the success some of these rookie WR's are having (D. Jackson, etc), Jerry will also finally be tempted to draft a receiver in earlier rounds. Roy W. needs to step up next season as well.

I don't think Garrett would have anything to do with it. Roy Williams doesn't like the guy either, is he getting cut too? I'm sure Crayton doesn't think much of him, either. You can say that those two dislike him because TO turned them against him, but their problem isn't with him as a person, but with him as a coach. And of course, we know who else doesn't think that highly of him anymore -- Tony Romo.

If Jerry picks Garrett over TO, he really is stupid and ruining this team.

How about they get a coaching staff who has a pair?

A group who has the guts to confront players and fine and/or suspend them when necessary?

And if the owner has a problem with it, let him fire the coaches publicly for daring to reprimand his players.

At least the coach would keep his dignity and everyone would get to see where this team's true problems lie.

But it seems like this staff doesn't have the guts to say anything to ownership either.

Just the way some people like it...

Yeah! Jerry should go out and hire some coaches that will stand up to the players and to him and make Jerry fire his coaches. That makes a lot of sense.

I actually agree with you in a way, but what do you expect when you bring coaches into an environtment like this? It's not going to happen.

As I said, I think the boat may have sailed for this coaching staff with these players, but I think it's more the fault of the players and owners than that coaches. I mean, what do you expect when Wade is the head coach? Either the players become police themselves to work for Wade's "family" idea or they take over and do what they want. At least some of them have chosen the second option. How do you blame Wade or Garrett for this. The coaches and players--of course that's my opinion, and I'm sure I'm an idiot (as some posters love to play internet tough guy).

be careful what you wish for,..

Anyone remember our offense when TO was injured last season?

I don't see how cutting TO would make

- our O line better

- Garrett's play calling better (TO was not the only one whining about it)

- Make our D tackle better

- our running game better (our o line can't run block)

Is T.O. better than the recievers on either the Cards or Steelers?

And, how do you know that the playcalling might be bad because T.O. is in anybodys face yelling all the time...

"They don't use me right"!

"I can't throw and catch the ball"!

I'm sure there are other quotes from this loud mouth!

(and to think, the last two years I was one of his biggest fans...how stupid do I look now)

Romo made one comment about the scheme not working and you think he's gone baby TO on Garrett? I do think it would make a huge difference if Owens is gone and the players know who's running the show (and it isn't Owens).

CL,

He could very well be released. but it seems like every year we have a T.O. watch. Every year people asking if Jerry pays T.O.'s bonus. More people may be watching, but I don't think the question being asked is anything new, nor should it hold anymore importance than any other year.

If the team releases him, they release him. If they don't, they don't.

So let me get this straight... if he picks a bright 41 year old coach, over a 35 year old prima-donna horrible track record having weirdo receiver, Jerry's dumb? LMAzO!!! Where do you get your logic from? You would make Spocks head explode.. Seriously.

Wow. Color me shocked. A member of the media says TO is a cancer.

I find it really low that members of the media continuously label someone as a illness that kills. It's offensive to the one labeled and to people and their families who suffer from the disease.

Both of these guys are the demise of the team. Its either T.O. bringing controversy ever week or Jason Garrett a guy who is way in over his head at OC.

yeah I remember, I also remember Romo was hurt too, and we didnt have Roy Williams...I also remember Miles Austin wasnt as good as he is now

I don't see how cutting TO would make

- our O line better

I think the OL thing will be fine, LG was a train wreck this yr and Adams played hurt almost all season

- Garrett's play calling better (TO was not the only one whining about it)

this I strongly disagree with...the play calling will look better because the QB wont be bound and determined to force the ball to one guy at all costs...they'll spread the ball around more, and most likely we'll be far more committed to the running game

- Make our D tackle better

thats definitely a HC issue...

- our running game better (our o line can't run block)

see above, I disagree

I guess I missed all those other players stating they don't like Garrett or at least insinuating they don't like him?

Where did you hear or read that?

I blame everyone - players, coaches, and ownership. They've all had a hand in getting this team mired in the muck it's in.

The owner says 'the staff is in place' - then starts talking about 'change' - and then starts firing coaches! Real clear direction from the top!

The head coach is a spineless buffoon who's top priority is that everyone like him. You want to be surrounded by friends? Go to a family cookout! This is your job here, not a popularity contest.

And the offensive coordinator looks like he's in over his head, both in terms of innovation, placalling, and dealing with his players. The guy just looks not ready for prime time. And I don't think the current team can afford to wait and hope that he gets it.

he took one comment by Romo, and decided it meant "the guy cant coach"

Jerry and Peter King seemed on good terms during Hard Knocks....hmmmm.....
