When does that day come?

And who's left here if or when it comes?

With many Garrett seems to automatically get the benefit of the doubt as if it's a guarantee that he's the next great coach in the making.

I don't give him that benefit of the doubt but go more by what I see - a guy who underachieved with the tools he'd been given.
If it were Ray Sherman who called the plays last year and was criticized by the players as much as Garrett, how many threads per day would we have to fire him?

Yeah, he rolled against those defensive juggernauts didn't he?

Funny that injuries weren't an excuse then either...

How about makeing T.O. the OC? Better?

gee I dunno, the first three games of the season? the Cinci game? SF and Seattle? 2nd NYG game?

all last yr?

3 of those teams our not even good enough on D to warrant praise the Giants game was our defense, last year was last year. Any semi decent OC should have been able to figure out how to beat something as basic as cover 2 man which is what teams where doing ever since the GB game

I think he's got at least 2 more years of high level production in him.

TO's stats with Tony Romo, annualized over a 16 game season:

1172 yards (9th in NFL)
11 TDs (3rd in NFL)
16.7 YPC (3rd highest among top 10 receivers in NFL)

Those are top 5 receiver-type stats. And that's with scheme and Romo's injuries holding him back.

It's Jason Garrett who we're better without, in the short and long term.

The numbers above are somewhat skewed though, by that mammoth game he had against SF...he only had 2 100+ yd games (and one of those was the Philly debacle, when he ran up some numbers after we were blown out) and only a total of 3 of 90+ yds...those are not premier WR stats

As for the last comment, I guess we'll see...it looks like he (Garrett) will definitely be back, and there's a reasonable chance TO wont be. If the key guys are healthy, I think we'll see a vastly better offense next yr. If not, you and some of those others can say you told us so.

I don't think Garrett would have anything to do with it. Roy Williams doesn't like the guy either, is he getting cut too? I'm sure Crayton doesn't think much of him, either. You can say that those two dislike him because TO turned them against him, but their problem isn't with him as a person, but with him as a coach. And of course, we know who else doesn't think that highly of him anymore -- Tony Romo.

If Jerry picks Garrett over TO, he really is stupid and ruining this team.

Well, I think Garrett and TO are two separate issues. I do wish TO were gone, because I think he does cause locker room problems. But also I think Garrett did a really lousy job last year and if I knew we could get a solid veteran OC in here, I'd be more than fine with him leaving.

Frankly, I'd love to replace both of them.

I only mentioned the part about TO leaving if Garrett stays because I think Jerry does value RJ's opinion greatly and that's just one more voice convincing Jerry to pull the trigger.

And WG, you have to admit this is the first time so many in the media have said they thought TO would be gone. Not should be, but will be. And it's definitely the first time it's been reported that Stephen wants him out of here.

I like garret, alot. but I dont want him back.

I really wish jerry would remove him and the rest of the staff and owens.

then I would like to see a new coach who commands respect and has the players respect but also fears him. Like someone once said "I am not running a boys club here"

I have list of guys I would like to see come in and take over. Garret is on it. it would require removing owens and then garret taking no crap from anyone, owner, coaches and players to get him to have the respect of everyone. I am not sure he can do that. If he were the head coach I would feel better than I do now about the team.

Then I would like to see the new coach have the ability to remove a number of current players. there are a number here who need to go.

Other than Kosier, who did play one game. Nobody was hurt those first three games were they? Probably not a coincidence that was the best we looked offensively either.

Or just get a competent OC.

TO had 8 games with 76 or fewer yards in 2006 (5 of those he had 56 or fewer yards). Did you ever hear him complain about Sparano during any of those games?

if Sherman had the 2007 Garrett had and then the 1st part of this season doing great.....then had a slump...there would be all kinds of ignorant lets get rid of him talk....probably from the same guys that want to get rid of Garrett now who has showed us more good then bad .....his bad wasnt that bad.....but his good was Great.......I bet you same guys would have fired Belichick after his first 5-11 season huh?

Was Wade Phillips the HC that season?

Parcells muzzled TO. The current HC cant/wont do that.

Did that San Francisco game not happen? Oh, it did? Okay.

Nothing racial, for sure, if that's what you're getting at. I just picked him because he's the next guy on the staff who'd be the playcaller.

This is not about Sparano or Garrett at this point. First things first. Get rid of the headache and move on. That's my take...

No...cause he knew better...Parcells would have his butt

Not speaking for theogt, but I think Garretts history of "genius" and a former Cowboy is why folks are willing to limit their evaluation of his job last year.

Ray Sherman has no such history here. If he'd sucked it up as bad as Garrett, he'd probably take as much heat as Zimmer did.

Eh, I think it's about the same, personally. More coverage of the same yahoos.

This year was YEAR TWO dude. It's not like Garrett has been here 10 years. It's not like he's had 5 years of failure in Dallas.

And you didn't answer my question. What did you think of Garrett in year 1 when we finished 3rd on offense? Was he horrible?? This year we finished 13th with horrid offensive line play and multiple injuries to key personnel (felix, kosier, romo for 3 games). I do agree that he didn't adjust to things he needed to but I am not going to throw him under the bus for one down sophomore season....

Not much of a muzzle on that Tour de France outfit...

I think TO was playing for a contract and to repair his image a bit that first year after being suspended. Now that he's gotten paid, he's a lot more bold.
