Burks, Green, Zion I think are the team's targets at 24

You are right on about Lloyd. Dean appears to be to short for Quinn. Lloyd is a great blitzer but I did not see him line up off the edge. I want to see more of Sam Williams but he does not seem like he has off ball linebacker skills. I can see Lloyd being what the Cowboys wanted Jaylon to be.
Lloyd is a very good off the LB ball prospect. He looks like a very good 3 down player. However, I don't view the need as needing another star next to Parsons. All they need is a future 2 down replacement for Lve as they have both Kearse, Cox as nickel coverage types. I am expecting them to take a linebacker in the 5th rd to address the area. Love Chenal, but they have much larger needs.

Which probably would helps explain why the more physical oriented teams can successfully impose their will to run the ball vs our run defense.

if I were the opposing team and i knew i had that physical ball capability while the Cowboys play exclusively nickel defenses, i too would try the pin ball approach
until they can proved to stop it.
That's is why we all should be screaming for Travis Jones and Leo Chenal. Jones is being compared to Chris Jones, Chenal is the anti-Lve, great stack/shedder and strong blitzer. However, I see this upcoming draft to be almost all on the offensive side. They are down a few starters and looking to change their identity.

Lloyd reminds me of Devon White, Tampa with his blitzing ability. He would make our linebackers elite and would have Parsons be even more of a wild card. His ceiling appears to be the Ravens at 14. The local talk shows have him as one of their top 3 players the Ravens should draft. I don’t think he makes it to 24.

We have been saying that for years when the team has used high picks at the position to be disappointed. It's not a huge need, all we need is a part time player, the hope is Cox eventually takes the starting spot if he proves he can do better against the run.

Any chance LVE can get back to his rookie season play? I remember on Hard Knocks Parsons and LVE were talking about hunting together. I just hope he can get back to being a good linebacker.

The good news about Lve, he did manage to play a full season, got better once the team got healthy up front and will be playing for a contract. I don't think they are going to find a better player outside the top 3 rounds. He is serviceable, especially when he is just playing limited snaps. He also can allow Parsons to play multiple spots as Lve has played all linebacker positions. I think they look to draft depth on day 3, but ultimately think that future job is Cox to lose.

Maybe it just me but I am excited to see the defense. I think the secondary and linebackers unit have top 5 potential. If only we could get your boy Travis Jones at 1 tech. Scary Hours in Dallas.

We both would love to finish building this defense, but I believe they view the other side being more needy. I am thinking 1-2 defensive players and the rest will be all on the offense.

The lack of an elite threat at RE will prevent them from being scary.

If Jelani Woods is what I think he is, I would like to see us run 2 tightend sets 75% of the time, mixing things up. Make teams defend the seam with Jelani, stretch the field. Dude is a Gazelle.A match up nightmare. I think he helps us much more than drafting a wr at 24. Rather draft Davis or Wyatt/BestGuard at 24, then in rd 2 either draft Jelani there, or Best available. Then HOPE Woods is there at pick 88 in rd 3. I just think drafting a wr at 24 doesn't help us like Woods does later. Having a freak like him stretch the field makes life much better for Kellen, Dak, Zeke, and the wr bunch we have. Helps Schultz as well. I think Jelani is the best wr or TE in this draft. He's that special.Better than pitts. Makes us elite day 1.

I am a homer but I believe the combination of the 2nd year players and the draft picks (combinations of offensive lineman, te/wr, and defensive player in first 3 rounds will get us to where we need to be. The Cowboys will have one of the youngest teams in the league next season.

Woods changes EVERYTHING if we land him. If we address the trenches as well, and linebacker the right way, land HIM...that goes along way to helping Dak,Zeke, the wr group. A match up nightmare.

People think hes just an athletic TE. He is much more than that. He is a guy that u can play all over. He can play out wide at times. He's just dynamic/freaky.

Keep in mind, we also have cap funds over after the draft and could add reinforcements at spots that weren't addressed in the draft. Think there are still some good options out there and their prices will start to come down.

You do realize we have the one of the best pass rushers in the league playing middle linebacker. Pass rush from the edge won’t be a problem with the Cowboys.

I agree with you with Woods but there are other 2nd tight ends we can find in the draft as well. The Cowboys can find offensive linemen throughout the draft. Is Zion/Green that much better then the second and third round targets. If Sam Williams is there in the 3rd round the Cowboys will be cooking with grease.

I think the money is being saved for Diggs, CeeDee and (people will not like this) Steele. But you are right the Cowboys can bring in a Clowney type after the draft or a Flowers for the guard spot.

There is also a string group of receivers out there like ODB, Landry, Watkins, Julio
