I'm blowing off my second day of work in a row and just feeling burned out. I don't even know what the point of this post is other than to let other people vent if they want to. Maybe telling me why you hate your job or the people you work with will make me feel better?

So! A disgruntled customer called and said he had not received a fax he requested. I reviewed the confirmation page. It said the line was busy.

I called the customer back and asked for an alternate fax number. He asked why. I said our records showed the fax failed due to a busy signal. He grumbled something about it never happened before but gave me another fax number.

Another fax was sent. The confirmation page said the fax was successful. I called the customer. He said the fax came through immediately but still asked why I needed the second fax number.

I asked if the second fax machine was often used? He said no and that it was his personal fax line. And (of course) his business fax line worked fine every time except for my previous fax attempt.

I asked if his business fax was single line or multi-line. He said single line. And it did not make a difference for anyone else but me.

I wanted to say he is not receiving all faxes from anyone on the first attempt if his fax machine is already handling a call but bit my tongue instead. Whatever.

Sorry, @Runwildboys educated me on what you meant. I took it the wrong way.
No need to apologize. Members vent on CowboysZone all the time. I threw in my two cents so anyone contributing to the thread does not get in trouble venting. We humans can sometimes get PRETTY animated (and vocal) about stuff that pisses us off. :muttley:

What year is this? I do still have to send a fax occasionally and ask the same question.

I can totally relate, we have at least 2 employees that to be honest aren't worth a warm cup of you know what. Upper management for some bizarre reason insists on keeping them employed even thought they really aren't qualified to take out the garbage at McDonalds.

no extra pay.

i LOOK for ways to goof-off.
they talk about budget concerns....yet the staff that gets trimmed is the janitor crew.

You've got to find your zone out. My wife and I have the same one, the casino. We take our selected cash amount, and go have a blast. When I'm gambling, I can zone out and don't think of anything else. Work, bills, other problems, nothing enters my thought train. Refreshes me.

It may or may not make you feel better but I sling BS for a living. At least a mop is my hands would yield tangible results. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.

That's cool. I do like to gamble but I'm not very good / lucky at it. My wife seems to have that magic touch but I might as well light money on fire.
