Burned out thread

I've been thinking of getting into the lawn business...with an ageing population, the grass will grow.

I work in the govt and it's dreadfully boring/mind numbing at times. Plenty of smart folks, but morale is always in the toilet regardless of party. The slllooow death. Bureaucracy will crack you or turn you into an automated robot spitting acronyms only you know and think this makes you a part of the work "positive" flow when you're really just spinning wheels; rinse, repeat. puke, etc.

Honestly , I've never had a career but the prospect of returning to my seasonal job in a few weeks has me stressed out .My boss is a incompotent douchbag who tries to dump his responsibilities off on his subordinates.


Op , I don't know how much free time you have but maybe take up a new hobby would help alieviate feelings of burn out. I remember you mentioned weightlifting in a previous post .
Exercise has been proven to have many benefits,especially weightlifting

That's what the fraud supervisors do at my place. I made their heads spin when I told my supervisor that I'm at work from 1030 PM to 7 AM, as long as I'm working that's all that matter...he did not like it when I said it is management problem if the work is not done and the line fails to run...they lose a 150 000/hr when the line does not run. The fraud thinks some of us dummies...I have 0 respect for management at my place...an office temp with a bad attitude could run the place better...

I never gave an update but they called me later that same Thursday to let me know I was getting canned. So relieved because I was really starting to despise some of those lame-os..

Started a new job this past Tuesday with better pay and more independence. I’m also given an opportunity to add my own input, write my own contracts, and share in the profits from new accounts I acquire for the company.

God closes doors and opens better ones!!!

Funny I was thinking about work this week. I was 3rd at my work as far as rank, well last year I got promoted becoming manager over #1 and #2.
So. former #1 has been giving me hell, ALL YEAR because I'm giving him orders. Finally hitting my breaking point, but it's ok, I'm giving hell right back. Lol.

To me it's just frustrating...I am looking for another job...but will be signing a union card. The only way it will get better is with a union. I will be getting actively involved with the union...
