I'm blowing off my second day of work in a row and just feeling burned out. I don't even know what the point of this post is other than to let other people vent if they want to. Maybe telling me why you hate your job or the people you work with will make me feel better?
I've been on sabbatical for a hot minute.
Nothing is inspiring me right now.
Nothing.
I get on a ride for a minute, but it doesn't make me want to get back on. You know?

I've been trying to listen to new music and find something, but... nothing.

Burned out, yea, I'm fully in touch with that feeling these days. I have been working two jobs for about 16 years. My second job has been very manageable and fit in quite well with my "career" employment. So well, I intended to transition into it full time once I retired form the main gig. Be careful what you wish for. A great opportunity to pull down a full time position at the transition gig appeared almost 3-1/2 years ago. Had to take it. Been churning 80 hours a week since November 2016. Only one year, four months, four days and a wake up until I shake loose of my "career" (36 years) and coast in the gig. No complaints, just tired.

Damn you just described my situation exactly. Just not feeling it these days. I'm hoping for your sake that you are describing me.

All I can do is give you a fist bump. You're a better man than me. I hope it works out.

Doesn't matter. Gambling is about enjoying the gaming of it.
Like you said, set aside a certain amount of money you have no problem losing (assume you will lose it all) and treat it as entertainment like going to the movies, a weekend trip, etc.

That way, instead of dwelling on winning or losing, you can focus purely on the fun of doing it.

That's the only way to have fun at a casino. Odds are against you, so you'll prolly lose. However, since we go twice a year and do a significant amount of gambling, rooms, food, and drinks are all free, plus souvenirs at the gift shop. Plus, we always get some free gambling chips, usually between $100 and $200. When you use those, you only get what you win, you don't get to cash in the chips.

Last trip I got $160, so I simply put it down on one hand of blackjack. Won, so then I had that much extra to play w/.

Sorry to hear it, man. Are you the guy who works at an MJ grower or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, I work at a cannabis facility.

I work midnights. I am in the process of getting paperwork filled out by my doctor so I can move to the afternoons...

Working that shift with those people have my anxiety very high (no pun intended)...

In the meantime, until the move happens I will get a note that will inform my employer that from time to I will be off work while on midnights.

My job is like Highschool with grown men.. if you aren’t on the managers good side expect to be messed with. I survived 4 years of this hell because the pay is good but recently I’ve been getting some heat over my numbers... I’m on high alert right now, they’ve checked up on me, audited me, cut my work out and sent me somewhere else, it’s been hell. I just need to survive a little longer until they find someone else to pick on. It’s normal at my job.

Forget new music. Try some Concrete Blonde, Alice in Chains, or Stevie Ray Vaughan...or turn the lights off, strap on some headphones and listen to Pink Floyd.

When I say new music, I mean those are the bands that I've been listening to and I'm getting burned out on that.
Let me rephrase:
I need something fresh.

I feel your pain. Pretty much the same where I work. I just wanna know, "what's the matter with people"? Life is tough enough without drama.

Man, I feel for you guys. I started my own lawn business back in 1994, and I've never looked back. I'll never get rich, but I make "comfortable" money, and only answer to my customers. And if one of gets to be where I can't stand them, I can drop them and move on. There are always more customers out there who want to hire me, no problem.

I can't even imagine anymore being at the whim and daisy of some powerhunger numnuts who got his job from his daddy, or from bum insertion.

I've been thinking of getting into the lawn business...with an ageing population, the need will grow.
