I've decided to evoke a lot of crap by posting this. (norm for this forum)

We paid Brandon Carr $50M and he does a lot of crap that should be a penalty while playing defense.

Is he good? Or just good at cheating (holding) while playing defense? I've noticed he holds a lot.

He has been beaten a lot recently. Even by receivers 33+ year old.

I see ability, but not top CB money. Besides, cheating CB's IMO have about half real value. If I have to name cheap CBs that have got big contracts that were false quality CBs lately (see Eagles a couple of years ago) then I'm not going to tell you who they are.

Lets let all hell break lose and demand trades, fires, and whatever else will complete screw the Cowboys up worse than they already are.

Brandon Carr played very well early on in the season and looked like he was absolutely deserving of the 50 million dollar contract that the Cowboys gave him. However recently that hasn't been the case. He's been getting torched alot lately.

Part of the problem is lack of consistent pressure on the quarterback, but today we were able to get pressure yet Carr was still getting torched. He needs to step up and start playing like he did in the first couple of games. Maybe it's the defensive scheme, but bottom line is he isn't playing very good football right now.

Biggest problem for Car is the scheme. The last few weeks we have been playing our corners off the line of scrimmage. Car's strength is press coverage at the line. He does not have the speed to make up when playing off. He likes to be physical and jam the receiver off of the line. That gives him the advantage. The scheme has been based off of the qb we face. Today if we play man at the line and Cam decides to run, he would of been picking up huge chunks if he was not contained.

If want to ***** about the offense that avg 18ppg and scored 19 today have at it. But we gave up 14 pts.

The OP poster points out a player, whom we all noticed struggling don't act like you haven't, it was not a thread talking collectively about the defense. Heavens forbid we have a thread to discuss about players that struggle without typical knee-jerk replies such as "we won" "defense gave up 14"

I think he is playing fine personally. I think the issue is a bunch of folks here on CZ got all worked up in the offseason thinking Carr is a "shutdown" corner -- whatever that is ..

He is a good corner. Probably not Pro-Bowl material. The Cowboys had to overpay to get him so he got Pro-Bowl money.

What else is there to say really?
