3 of the 4 QB's in the championship games are on their rookie deals. Burrow 3rd year, Hurts 2nd year and Purdy 1st yr. In todays NFL maybe it just doesn't make sense to pay the big number and makes more sense to take a QB every year at some point in the draft just to always be churning the QB roster. In todays NFL you need to spread the money around. Thoughts?

Burrow could win anywhere, maybe even here.

Need real coaches with real schemes to make guys like Hurts and Purdy effective.

We have an 80 year old telling a guy with no other experience as an OC what he wants to see more of…

Can’t compete off the field.

How many SBs did the Patriots win during Brady‘s 2nd, 3rd and 4th contracts (not doing the research but it has to be around 3-4)? Mahomes isn’t on a rookie deal and may win it all this year. Josh Allen isn’t on a rookie deal and he is on a damn good team. There has been many QBs who have won SBs after their rookie deals.

You’re insinuating like it’s easy to find a SB caliber QB in the draft. It’s really not.

one day nfl team will learn paying a qb just because he is a qb is dumb

if u dont have a mahomes or burrow or rodgers real franchise qb then keep trying until u get one and build a system that do not rely on it like sf did

that is hard to do but u will be better off in the long run because u will never win paying guy like dak, cousins, carr type

We had our chances but we kept JG for too long. We went 13-3 in Dak and Zeke’s rookie year….Thank Jerry for that…..

I think it is worth it but only if the QB is really elite. Our mistake was to pay elite money to an average QB.

Do you think the Bengals should let Burrow walk after the end of his rookie deal just to save money?

Joe Burrow will be cashing in pretty soon. Hurts will eventually cash in and Purdy may cash if he continues to play this way. You can’t just invest a draft pick on a QB every year and hope to strike lightning in a bottle. We had a real good deal with Dak for several years but we had to finally pay him. Fans are acting like all you do is draft a QB somewhere in the draft and you found your new starter for the next several years on a cheap rookie contract. Lol If some of you think there’s a Brock Purdy late in the draft every year good luck. Drafting a QB is the ultimate crapshoot.

Its probably getting to that point. But the Niners have paid Garrappollo so Purdy doenst count in that scenario.
