I've read elsewhere that Dave Campo said that Carr was the one who was not in his zone.

The throw was amazing-- but the most incredible part of the play was the catch by Cook.

Blame the defense all you want-- that play was one in a million. Sux that it happened TO us instead of FOR us lol

How often do you see a TE make a toe touch catch like that on the sideline?

Almost never. I don't recall the last time.

Rodgers is gonna beat you regardless. He's the best QB in the game. That's why your coach has to "coach around" Rodgers. A few ways to do that are 1) not trading FGs with a QB that could put up 50 on you, 2) not giving them the ball back with enough time to win, and 3) stick to your running game to control the clock and keep Rodgers off the field. We failed on all 3 of those accounts. It was a bad play by Byron Jones but it wasn't his fault that we were even in that position.

Jones got caught maintaining "zone integrity" for a split second too long. Cook came from the other side of the field and was running full speed (or close to it) when he reached Jones' zone, and by the time Jones reacted to him, it was too late. It's just too bad Lee let Cook go and switched off the Cobb, although it's probably what he is supposed to do.

Green Bay and Rodgers got lucky on that call. The Cowboys came out cold and slow. I blame the bye week and the fact that the "Coach" decided to rest all the young and healthy star players for the last game of the season. Too much time off for young guys. In the end, what good did it do the Club!

"I kept my eyes on Rodgers like I'm coached to"

Thats just rich. Anytime I watch our DBs their back is to the QB like a bunch of fools. Or is it just the safeties who are coached to see where the ball is coming from?

Man to man is approached differently.

Jones made a mistake but Marinelli lived in mistakes. He should have blitz the hell out of Rodgers on that play, but of course he has no balls.

I don't know the last time I saw a coach "blitz the hell" out of a quarterback when it's an ultra-prevent situation and all you need to do is prevent a 30+ yard play.

I guess no NFL defensive coordinators have any cajones!

Edit: We have seen a team blitz Rogers in similar situation. This is what happened.

Yah-- and Cook is a hot and cold TE to boot. Disappears for games at a time lol

He picked a hell of a moment to make the catch of his career

Byron Jones played all of week 17, leaving plenty of film of him getting exploited by Zach Ertz. Ertz had a career day against Byron, who played like he was on a bye.

The Texans' defense held them to 21 points, and 4 of 12 on 3rd down.

In December.

So you're saying we don't have one f the best defenses in the league? Agreed. And I don't think anyone in here would argue with you on that point.

He made a mental mistake. He bit on the notion that Rodgers was going to run. He needed to decide in a split second whether he was going to defend Rodgers running up the seam or continue to trail away and carry the receiver closely up field.

He chose wrong.

I don't see the logic in worrying about him running at all. They needed 36 yards to kick a 56 yard field goal, on top of that by the time he ran for 36 yards the time on the clock is zero. Unless he was going to run all the way for a Touchdown there was no need to worry about him running. I really hope you're wrong about this because if they were worried about him running there it is all time dumb.

Well you just can't coach stupid now can you?

Sounds to me like they took advantage of a Zone scheme, something they probably saw on film and practiced for. We seem to have better results when we play our man press coverage schemes...
