So chilling, so brave
And this is why I refuse to criticize ANY NFL player who holds out for the best contract they can receive. We talk about quarterbacks and other positions are overpaid yada yada yada... but that's BS.Sucks, but I believe him. And he was one of the best athletes in his class.
Only the ones who have money before the league will ever talk like this. He was an Ivy League type kid who could’ve made it without football. Most of these NFL players come from a lot lower tax bracket type situations.THIS IS A MOUTHFULL RIGHT HERE, players are coming out telling how they really feel, and this is how it should be!!!!!!!!
Like this one?Other reports indicate that’s not a retirement, that he’s expected to be ready to go in camp.
Sure he did.. but like 99% of guys in their 20's he was indestructible and fully believed "it won't happen to me." They all do. They kinda have to otherwise they wouldn't even be able to suit up. I think Byron was referring to just how enormous the pressure is from teams to play through injury and how underhanded some of the tactics they will use to get guys back on the field. In short I don't think he was blindsided by the physical toll of the game.. just by the extent to which the players are a little more than highly compensated slabs of meat to most of the teams.yeah he didnt word it right. He knew.
Running and cutting alone on that artificial/field turf is just brutal on the lower body. Im not even accounting for major injuries. While there have been major improvements in its construction, most players still hate playing on it.Weird coming from a non-physical corner
So how much do you think would Dak Prescotts number be if he for example had to give up his ability to run ?Spot on, it's the perceived disparity in financial trade that people see in their own situation vs his.
I hate to say it but everyone has a dollar number they would give up some component of mobility aka not being able to run or having a bad knee...what that number is however is debatable.
But there is always a number
He chose a path and he had no one tell him anything of this so he’s telling the future to how to take care of their body. Then get a job and work 40+ hours per week for 40 years making $25 an hour like millions and millions of Americans. I don’t know what to tell ya Byron. You chose your path.
Could be anyone. I remember they were injecting Romo every week just to get his back ready for game day…..He said injections......which one specifically?
Inspire Dak to retire? He’s quarterback lol.Maybe this will inspire Dak to retire. It's a brutal game. If you get that big contract, Never sign another. But I know how to manage my finances and live within my means. Best thing these guys can hire is not an agent but a wealth management consultant/ personal life coach.
Yeah I saw may and if the guy can’t run or jump there is no maybe about it he’s done. I don’t think I ever saw him play for the Dolphins.Could probably remove "may not". That tweet has "it's over" written all over it.
