Man, that preview looks awesome. I am really anxious for it to start now.
Yeah, that looked unbelievably good. If the rest of the series is that good, wow. It could end up as HBO's best.

I just hope that they will stream it on netflix. Not counting on it but it would be nice. Otherwise I have to wait for it. That first 15 minutes looks amazing. Now I will have to go reread the series.

Off topic but i'm very excited that NetFlix has secured the streaming rights to the first four seasons of Mad Men, there releasing it sometime in July on the site for instant streaming.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Camelot yesterday and I am about to watch the 3rd one in a few.

It's been pretty good so far. The only disappointment so far is that there hasn't been a lot of magic, espcially from Merlin.

The actresses that play Guenevere and Morgan are pretty hot!!!

When you guys refer to the 3rd episode you really mean the second (Guenevere) right? I know Starz called the first one a 2 parter, but it was just one to me. The third episode should be next weekend (Lady of the Lake).

Not only that but Merlin doesn't look remotely like a wizard. Looks more like a guy out of a Jason Statham movie.

Before I jump into these 3 series this month, i'm going to watch the complete series of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" on Netflix.

The original Merlin lore had him a "wild man" who ran away from civilization due to having witnessed the horrors of war (alluded to in the initial episodes of the series, obviously). I don't think he had magical powers, other than being described as a prophet. In those days ascribing magical powers to anyone would make them a heretic and Merlin is supposed to be a good guy. Besides, magic is traditionally the work of evil females :)

Robert de Baron's poetry was the one that gave Merlin his first "magic", principally shape-shifting ability (which wouldn't make him a heretic, I suppose). That too was included in the first few episodes of the series. One of the disguises de Baron's Merlin used was of a bearded old man holding a club, which I think is where the popular image of Merlin comes from. We may yet see that, but that's not necessarily his actual appearance. He also appears variously in de Baron's work as an ugly man, a beautiful boy, and a peasant (perhaps this last one is the form shown in the show so far...)

There's a ton of different types of Arthurian legends, and the characters change a lot between them then. Only later did Merlin have any powers beyond shape-shifting and prophesy. I'm not sure if the series will stick with the oldest version of Merlin or the newer versions.

I don't have Starz, so I am not sure when each episode aired. Just going by Wiki and the source I got my episodes from, there have been 3.

I watched about half of the third episode and it was okay.

Some of the things that happen make some of the characters seem a bit naive or not very smart.

I don't think I am going to like Morgan as the primary antagonist in this series. I think they need a really bad arse that is more interesting.

Not sure what that goofball was referring to -- probably just talking out of his *** again. There have been 3 episodes and Guinevere is the 3rd episode.

He may have gotten it confused with The Borgias? I think that aired Episodes 1 and 2 back to back.

Dunno.

They showed two episodes back to back for Camelot as well.

Even they showed it as a 2 hour premier, I am pretty sure it is set up as episode 1 and 2.

Same thing with the new AMC Show the Killing. They showed it as one big episode but it was actually two strung together.

Episode 101 - Homecoming

Episode 102 - The Sword and the Crown

Episode 103 - Guinevere

Episode 104 (next episode) - Lady of the Lake

The Camelot premiere was one continuous 1 hr 45 minute episode. There was no break as if 2 episodes were played back to back, it was continuous. Starz may have broken it down on paper, but as it aired, it's one singular episode.

You're not sure what anyone is talking about, not even yourself most of the time.

Episode 1 originally aired back in February as a preview of sorts. They re-aired it when they aired episode 2.

And yet when I recorded it on DVR, it showed up as two separate episodes. You can find it on OnDemand as two separate episodes. You can watch Episode 1 as a standalone episode and Episode 2 as a standalone episode. You tried to be a smart *** and lost.

Good for you and whatever service you use. Directv listed, recorded, and played it as one continuous episode. I don't know how it's listed on On Demand since I don't use that, but on the guide, as it was recorded, and as it was shown it was one complete episode. It wasn't a 2 hour premiere as they even advertised, it was 1 Hr. 45 minutes. I lost nothing as I only stated facts.
