Pete Carroll at USC had dominant talent & was labeled a "genius".
Then we went to the NFL, and coached the Seahawks to two Super Bowls -- and probably should have won the second one against the Patriots.
Granted not all successful college coaches will translate into successful NFL head coaches -- but Saban's coaching skills, football knowledge, and teaching techniques are equal if not better than Pete Carroll's stint at USC.
Good post. I don’t mean to demean Saban as a great college coach. He clearly is. I’m just saying it’s harder in the pros because the talent margins are much thinner.
