Can anyone say this about Garrett

I've seen too many other coaching changes in the last 8+ years and it's still the same outcome. The same running game abandonment and poor situational coaching. Such as running similar plays over and over without success.

Every season is a roller-coaster. Every other seasons is decent.
To say JG and Belichek in the same breath is silly.

Who is saying Belichick and Garrett are in the same breathe?

They aren’t even in the same time zone. Not sure if there’s anyone I’d put in Bills breathe this era? He’s separated himself from the pack IMO.

If Garrett was such a good coach Mr. Romo why were you implementing game plans during the week? Without your game planning (13-3) this talented team of ours struggles to keep its head above water.

He wasn't "implementing game plans". That's a misrepresentation. He was participating in and providing input to the game plans. He was involved in the process. That's really not unusual with veteran QBs.

My baseball coach was that way I could play all 9 positions and knew on every play where I was supposed to be as a backup for missed throws or the 1st or 2nd cut off man. Not anymore but ya.

That kind of knowledge should be automatic for any baseball player or coach with a fair amount of experience. Football is a different animal with so many different play calls and formations and changing assignments and responsibilities and coverages and blocking schemes . . .

Belichick factoid... pretty amazing. He has as many Rings as the rest of NFL coaches combined.

“That's impressive when you consider he has as many Super Bowl rings as the rest of the coaches in the NFL combined. Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Doug Pederson, Pete Carroll and Jon Gruden also have Super Bowl rings. This season, six first-time coaches will join the list of NFL coaches hoping to join that exclusive club.”

Is Garrett in the running for coach of the year every year? Form C.O.Y. in 2016 to we can't score in the redzone. Something happened. Something changed. Creativity wasn't a problem in 2016. If you're going to get rid of players then you need to find a way to maintain their offensive output. Plain and simple creativity was needed and Dak friendly was not creative enough. And at the end of the day the head coach is responsible for everything.

I agree ultimately at the end of the day it falls in the lap of the HC. Good and bad.

Someone who participated in this thread pretty much has argued this.

In my career playing football, nobody asked me to do as much as a COACH did. I might be 3-technique, or a linebacker, or a linebacker dropping into coverage more than ever, or playing inside more than ever. I'll always remember how much I learned watching COACH in practice. He can coach any position as good as any position coach in league. He can walk around the field and stop drills and coach each position-at the highest level.

is this true for all NFL coaches? does Bilicheck go around and stop the WRs and tell them which foot they need to make cut and how low they need to get....does he tell OL men to do a drill again and tell them their hand placements are wrong? is this expectations of all NFL coaches? or high school coaches...or some college coaches? seems unrealistic.....in the NFL the coach is like a CEO...they have the right people surrounding them. they set the vision. then they monitor execution to meet the vision. if a head coach had to stop a drill to tell the players for all the different position on how to do something over again, there is something wrong with that NFL organization...its either micromanaging and that fials inevitable or you have surrounded yourself with bad assistant coaches...

this makes no sense at all, I assume you didn't play division 1 football in a major program or perhaps your career ended after high school

Chris Long on Bellichik: “In New England, I learned so much about football. I always thought I was a smart player, even though I never thought about anything but the six inches in front of my face. In New England, I was forced to learn so many schematic concepts. In my career playing football, nobody asked me to do as much as Bill Belichick did. I might be 3-technique, or a linebacker, or a linebacker dropping into coverage more than ever, or playing inside more than ever. I’ll always remember how much I learned watching Bill in practice. He can coach any position as good as any position coach in league. He can walk around the field and stop drills and coach each position—at the highest level. And the quality of the dudes. Solid men. The right kind of people.
schematic is different than coaching positions. that's a vision of what you expect your team to be like in their roles responsibilities in the scheme you are running. which is different than position coaching a player...you are mixing things up and seem confused.

game planning happens during the week along with the QB for all 32 teams....to think the coaches go into a silo, come up with the game plan and then hand it to the players to execute is asinine……..geez people..

on the one hand people complain that we didn't build an offense that suits dak's strengths and likes and dislikes...on the other hand when we do, we complain its the player making the game plan...just say I hate garrett and be done with it...instead of trying to justify it...

Bellichick had a legit resume from a legit coaching tree long before becoming a HC. That's what seems to get lost in this conversation because real experience means nothing here. At no point in time can you say any of those things about Garrett.
mcvay? one year of OC in Washington.....

Let me fix that...Belicheat > Assistant Coaches > Most college coaches > Texas High School football coaches > Chimps > Bag of hammers > 3 day old sushi > Garrett
garrett > Kelly...given Kelly had a losing record and worse playoff record and is no longer in the league..would you agree?

The Romo-friendly, and now Dak-friendly was from the Jones' not Garrett or anyone else.
It has nothing to do with the game plan. It is really like all the other teams, it is a game plan to any QB's skills. But in Dak's case, Linehan did not do this.
Maybe Moore can, and will from what was said about him.
Romo friendly is just a marketing term from a marketing team...… all QBs are involved in game planning during the week with the coaches.....its not a dictator ship....

We have a HC that’s hit his ceiling. He needs a staff around him. Hope his new OC can make a improvement.
