How in the heck could Joseph Randle-Darren McFadden-Lance Dunbar fail?

Well dunbar was doing good, but they in their wisdom had him returning kicks, even though he has been injury prone.
And he gets hurt on KO return.

The FO based their decisions on having the best O line in NFL. they thought anyone could be as good as murray only less fumbles.
I said before the season that our OL was good but not great like many were thinking, and that is how it is looking now.
No murray and no callahan , means avg running game. Then romo gets hurt so that means almost no offense.

sad thing is dallas had the winning formula, and good RB and they threw it all out the window, to try something else.
Now that didnt work out too good and here we are.

My thoughts. The rushing game is not going to be close to what is was last year until #9 and #88 get on the field and get their timing down. You can put any RB in there right now and won't see that much difference until then.

and there you have it. Just like the passing game needed a real run threat to succeed, so does the running game need a real passing threat to succeed. I love our OL, but they are not the end-all, be-all, world dominaters that the mediots make them out to be. Hopefully the Cowboys' coaching brain-trust, a more menacing defense, and a more lively QB can make the difference until Romo gets back. It's not the running backs that are hurting this team.

I have given up on him,the coaches are not going to play him.

3 carries it's an increased workload. I swear this coaching staff doesn't want to upgrade all spots at once. Get him going before Romo comes back

To go with a less talented below average back. Go figure. We won SB with strong running games with 1 back. What do we try and do? Get cute.

Running and catching is one thing.

Can he pick up the blocks so the QB doesn't get decked?

That may be what was holding him back all this time.

I wonder how great Murray would be without Romo or Bryant, wait I don't have to wonder because he has no Romo or Bryant and look how he's doing

Well I think it would a lot better then what we've been seeing right now. Let's not forget that with Romo in game one and most of game 2 Randle didn't look that good

That we don't know as no one has talked about it. From what we've gathered he's picked up the playbook though. So hopefully he has an understanding of being able to pickup the blitz

So your saying (all other contract anddefensive acquisitions aside) with our current injury list, if we kept/paid Murray we'd be 4-1 or 5-0 right now?

How's Murray doing with the Eagle's?

Frankly, he's doing better than the mess we have here with our RB situation. I was ok with letting him go. But I was not ok with us not finding a capable replacement. The FO drank too much koolaid into thinking that anyone can run behind this oline. Now that foolishness is past and they realized their mistake, its time to move on and find a better RB than the scrubs that we have now.

It isnt speculation, had murray stayed each game would have been different, and that play romo was hurt on would not have occurred.
He might have got hurt on some other play, but everything would have unfolded in a different way.

Totally agree with you here. There was a reason why Murray was in there more than any other back. Thats because his ability to block. If Murray was in there the threat of the run would have give pause to the defense into playing the run. If they blitzed up the middle like they did, it would have most likely been blocked by Murray - just like what he did last year.

Murray is missed big time. All this talk about us missing Calahan or making excuses about the oline not playing well is secondary to the true reason why our run game sucks. Thats because Murray isn't running behind it any more and that we replaced him with the scrubs that we have now.

I hope CM can finish runs, move the pile, and be a classic downhill runner.

Everyone's still arguing about Murray... good back, who deserved to get paid. Dallas didn't feel as if he was worth the money the market was willing to give him, and that fine. But to not draft a back, than try to sell us on McFadden was ominous from the start. Three positions I feel like the cowboys dropped the ball on at the start of the season: RB, Backup QB, Kick Returner/ Punt Returner. Every time I see Tyler Lockett, I wanna throw up.

Edit: Losing Callahan was a bit of a blow as well.

He's not going to complete the vision if this idiotic coaching staff kreps going back to that failure Randle as the starter.

How's Murray doing with the Eagle's?

I just love when people take the simple approach and come back with this question. It amuses me.

Is the Eagles offensive scheme similar or identical to that used by the Cowboys?

Let's discuss.

Also, take note that Chip finally realized his scheme was not one size fits all and made some changes a few weeks ago to accommodate his starting QB and RB. How did that work out for Demarco last week? Where does Philly currently sit in our division?

Perhaps Chip watched some Cowboys offensive film. Hmmm

Bottom line, it was a travesty to let Demarco go without a fight that might have helped him believe we cared. This could have lowered the asking price. But noooo... We're smarter than everyone else. Hence our 20 year drought, scatback by committee, & desire to place guys in positions where they don't excel just to prove a point (Randle).

That all history though. But it bears mention since you asked such a simple question.

I view Christine Michael as that 3rd round draft pick that we screwed the pooch on. His success will erase the memory of that faux pas.
