This thread cracks me up. I took so much crap for having Foles in almost all of my Mock Drafts. How many times did I get told he was the anti-Romo or a statue? Now people want to anoint him the 2nd coming of Tom Brady.

The last 2 QBs I have told you the Cowboys were very high on...Andy Dalton and Nick Foles. Time to start believing in our Scouting department.

Oh, and Merry Christmas one and all.

I thought his early success after he break out game with 7 TDs and 0 Interceptions was a aberration -- mainly the result of playing against really bad teams.

10 games in he has 25 TDs, 2 Interceptions, and a 119 QB rating.

Since the Cowboys knocked him out of the earlier game with a concussion I've been waiting for him to suck and he has not come through.

I watched every minute of the Bears-Eagle game and in a game that didn't matter he broke the Eagles single-game franchise record by completing 84 percent of his passes (21 of 25). The crazy part is that three of his four incompletions came on balls that were thrown away.

I refuse the believe the Eagles found a QB this good. Please tell me that Foles is going to come back to earth and that the Eagles haven't lucked upon a Franchise QB for the next decade.

Can the Cowboys make him fall back to earth this week?

You keep hearing people in forums and on TV saying he's a backup. This guy is no backup.

Foles is a perfect reason why you have to take chances on a QB in the draft from time to time - sometimes, they work out....Dallas doesn't need a 1st round QB right now of course, but I would look to the 2rd tier guys in this upcoming draft and see who is there in the 3rd or 4th rounds...if no one legit is there, then look to add a QB in the 2015 draft for the future

Justin tucker, whos the ravens kicker who seems to never miss, was nick fole's teammate there

that high school is definitely on the NFL radar now

Honestly, they've been on the D1 radar for a while now. They've churned out some legit college level talent for a while. My junior year, we played Westlake in the quarter finals at the Alamodome (with Brees) and we were beat like we stole something. That team was an absolute machine. Brees's #1 WR and he combined for >100 TDs over their 4 years together.

Ryan Swope was also on the team with Tucker/Foles. That's ridiculous.

Also reading up on them, Seth McKinney was on the Brees team that year. Huston Street, Chris Mihm, Kelly Gruber all went to AW.

It makes you wish Vick had stayed healthy this year so it would have taken the Eagles longer to discover what Foles could do.

It's funny how much hype RG3 got last year. People were thinking he was the future of the NFC East. I'm still not writing off RG3. I think he got a raw deal and can still be a good player. But Foles looks like the real deal. When Peyton, Tom and Drew are done in a year or two, the league will belong to Rodgers, Foles, Wilson and Luck.

As an Eagles fan I wasn't sold on him. He showed some flashes last year but it was so hard to evaluate him because the team was so horrible. I was fully in Vick's corner this year thinking he provided the best skill set to operating Kelly's offense.

However, I didn't expect (and I am very happy to see) Chip adjust the offense a bit to Foles and not force the system on him.

He's made me a believer and I think that he's going to be very good. Since the first Dallas game this year, where he struggled reading the man coverage, a light has gone on. He's making smart decisions and right now we're enjoying the ride. His arm strength isn't going to blow anyone away but he's winning.

Well
As they say, the water gets a little deeper now. It'll be hard for me to judge him when facing a pathetic Dallas defense. But if they win this week, lets see how he does against a legit defense in a playoff game. I just wish Demarcus Ware still had game.
you can only judge him on the teams and players he faces. Just like our own team, he has had some very good games and that is more due to his game than the Rama he is facing. If he get protection he'll be good it seems.

No way. Definitely not in that class of QB's. I'm still not fully sold on him based off of a handful of games. He is going to have to do way more than that and then some to get into that category.

I was hoping the Eagles would trade him last year so we don't have to deal w/ him in the NFC East.

I'm not scared of Foles, and I don't think he's the long-term answer for the Eagles, either. He strikes me as another Alex Smith - he'll take care of the ball and win games, but I don't see him taking the Eagles over the hump.

Or I could be wrong and he could be Tom Brady 2.0. Either way, his first season is far too early to tell what his impact will be.

There will be some QBs in rd 2 and 3 this year like Aaron Murray and mettenberger who can develop
Just depends on what we will want to do
I think we have 2 (at most 3) more years with romo

In another thread, they were two of the 4 guys that I mentioned that could fall to round 3...could be time to grab one of them up

I just hope we value at each pick. Every year, in almost every round, there's always sure thing picks, and we usually always go with the project player. There's DT talent in round 1, OG talent in round 2-3, and QB talent in round 3-4.

I like Foles but he plays in a very QB friendly offense. He has the best running game in the league and a top 5 O-line.

If McCoy went down, Foles would be a completely different QB.

That team is on a lucky streak. Never before seen luck.

It will end. It will end hard.

Didn't Robert Griffin have 20 TDs and 5 INTs last year and everyone crowned him as superior to Romo?

Wait for it. The same thing will happen to Foles next year.

That's possible. All we can really say is that he has proven to be a capable player when put into a good situation

For a young Qb he certainly has not cost his team games.

We haven't really seen him in a position where he has had to carry the team on his back through difficult circumstances.

But I wouldn't want to sleep on him either. If you give him a window of opportunity he has shown he can get it done. There is no denying that.

If he has to create his own window that may be a different story.
