Can Dak shine with new coach?

The crappy thing is the evaluation by the upper management in regards to what type of scheme best fits the QB and his abilities. After year 1 and a proper evaluation of Dak, the team should have brought in the right coaching/player pieces/scheme to help develop their young, talented, but flawed QB. Instead they tried to fit a round peg into a square hole. Without proper evaluation of the offense as a whole, I have a hard time believing that this team will ever right the ship with Dak and/or properly develop a young QB.

Dak can become a pretty good QB just like what he did during his rookie year. All you have to do is look at his college tap and ran those plays in college. It's that simple.

In fact, that is what the coaching did during Dak's rookie year. They didn't have time to corrupt Dak with their lame playbook. So what they did is took the Ole' Miss offense and implemented it into the Dallas offense. It worked wonders.

After 3 years, Garrett and Linehan decided its best to force Dak into a different offense to fit their playbook. Thus we're seeing Dak being corrupted by bad coaching. If they let Dak be Dak he'll perform well. Just like he did against the Jags. If the coaches are too stubborn to make those changes it's completely their fault.

Possibly. I honestly think Garrett will be shown the door iif we miss the playoffs. However, a new coach with a 'Dak friendly offence mk 2' may allow Dak to improve what at present is dreadful QB play, but will it be enough to make him a QB that can win a championship? Because that is what we all want to see. In this offence driven, point happy NFL a prolific QB is key. The question is do you think Dak can ever be that QB ?

Dak is #2 in QB rating when using play action and #28 in QB rating for the rest of the passes yet we are 20th in play action attempts. The Rams are #1 in playaction attempts.

Just think about that for a second. You have a player who is #2 in the league at doing one thing and #28 in doing another thing. Common sense will tell you that you should make him do more of thing he is really good at and not have him do what he is really bad at. Not this coaching staff.

That's equivalent to having DWare drop back to play coverage most of the time instead of having him rush the passer. How stupid can they be?

After Garrett is gone we will all be even more mad that we kept him so long and watched his philosophy, among other things, hold us back.

Dak can shine now just as he did in 2016

Scott Linehan said this was a give all the way and the tight end was suppose to block the backside DE..he failed his assignment. Dak was not suppose to read him. It was a give. TE missed block https://t.co/o1gq1ZEoym

Not only did he fail he literally runs around him to avoid the contact

Given the more "coaching" he has received from this incompetent coaching staff the more he has regressed. He may very well be too far gone but we will never know until he is evaluated under a competent coaching staff.

Yes, new coaching likely makes Dak better. To me, he is a symptom. He can get better with some medicine. But, he is the fever, not the disease. Garrett is the disease. Cure that and the fever gets all better

Agreed but the root of the disease may extend further to the GM.

Given his rookie year success I absolutely believe that Dak could be successful given a coach to calls plays to his strengths. Currently the scheme calls for him to be Romo, who's skill set is almost exactly opposite Dak's

dear fellow fanzone freaks--- jared Goff and to an extent Carson Wentz did not play well their first year

but when the got new coaching and players too for Wentz...they both are shining as good QB's...Do

you all think the same would be true with Dak if he got similar coaching change and maybe more

receivers or players?...Or is Dak who he is ...Dak?

thanks for the opinions..they are greatly appreciated

sincerely

Goff was a premier talent that Jeff Fisher didnt know how to use but Dak is just a poor mans version of Tim Tebow! his arm and accuracy are erratic and his inability to make quick decisions is terrible. Dak is part of the problem along with the coaches and he must go too!

A good coach plays to the strength of his Players

Dak is accurate on the short quick passes. He has issues right now with being comfortable in the pocket.

He is a heck of a runner and pretty good at extending the play. He runs the RPO pretty well.

This isn’t rocket science really. But instead our bozo coaches have no idea what to do.

The thing for me that possibly makes him salvageable is just how good he is off play action, especially when the OL is playing decently well.

He's been highly efficient at it since he came into the league. Like, top 3-5 in the NFL.

With how playaction is starting to take off (for reasons even the more unknowing fans can appreciate, to keep defenses off balance), I think he could at least be pretty decent if we got someone in here running an offense based on it, and misdirection, and route design so we can take advantage of Zeke and Cooper.

That bit of uncertainty helps the OL too, as does moving guys around presnap.

Don't know. But I do know if we stick with Dak he needs new coaches. This offense is not working out.
