Can Drew Bledsoe pass for 4,000 yards this year?

It's an honest question.

Do any of you think that Drew Bledsoe can have a 4,000 yard season?

Personally, with a sound running game and Jason Witten making contributions, I think it is entirely possible.

Of course, the whole team will have to contribute to accomplish this for Drew, but again, I think it is possible.

If you don't think this is possible or likely, what do you think will be?

Side note: Hos, should have a very good time with this - it being a speculative question and all.

I don't think 4000 yards in this offense necessarily 'speculates' out as a winning season.

And it might not be saying too much about the D either.

I hope he DOESNT HAVE TO.

Alot of 14-3 wins would be just great in my book.

agree. 4000+yds most likely=unbalanced offense. often result of being behind/poor defense

I would like to see a ball control offense. Lots of balance. I could careless about pretty stats. 3,200 would be just fine if the running game is hitting on all 8 cylinders.

With a young defense we will run the ball 30-35 times a game.

We will use the backs, Witten and Key in a ball control attack.

3,000 to 3,300 yards means we are winning games, 4,000 yards means we are playing catch up and we will be below .500.

Well, it was the only relevant question I could think of for my 4,000th post.

But you never know what 4,000 yards might actually mean. Parcells - contrary to popular belief - does like to pass the ball when he's got the tools to do it.

I've seen him brilliantly pass to set up the run back when Hambrick was with us. He's not afraid to pass the ball. And when you have more options in running it can actually help your passing game tremendously.

I predict a HUGE passing year for Drew Bledsoe.

I told you that you'd never end the speculation. Now you're as addicted to it as everyone.

I hope he doesn't throw for 4000 yards and not because he's a retread. I think our success needs to come from controlling the clock and playing sound defense.

If he's throwing that much it will mean picks and sacks and that will derail a young team.

Congrats on Number 4000, Ben!

Fair enough..the D could get up to speed fast..and how many yards did Bledsoe pass for in 96 with Bill?

If it happens I predict:

A 7-9 record or worse.

A ton of 3 and outs on offense.

An inexperienced defense getting beat up and being in the bottom 3rd of the league.

We did not upgrade the OL and add two RBs to throw the ball 40 times a game.;)

No... I don't think he gets 4000 yards... I don't think BP would let him throw that much... if he does, though, I don't see how that automatically indicates a losing season... it's not like they are running the run and shoot...

What do retread mean?

It will be kinda hard unless Henson gets injured in the first game of the season....

(come on, you know this thread would be quite boring without a qb debate;))

You can find a picture of Eddie George next to the definition.

The final results of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks who played a full season (16 games + playoffs):

1995 Troy Aikman 3,304 yards
1996 Brett Favre 3,899 yards
1997 John Elway 3,635 yards
2003 Tom Brady 3,620 yards
2004 Tom Brady 3,692 yards

1999's Kurt Warner bucked the trend by passing for 4,353 yards, but we won't have the 'Greatest Show On Turf'. We won't need that kind of high octane offense or Bledsoe passing for 4K, imo, to be successful.
