Can roy be cut since next year is uncapped?

Yes, but I dont see it happening.

I do think there will be quite a bit of player cuts next off season, it is a great time for teams to drop some over paid players. Should be a fun offseason.

Don't be ********, Roy is still part of this team and we did give up way too much for him but this is still his first full yr with Romo. lets wait until the end of the season before we start the "cutting roy threads"

This. I'm not happy with the way Roy played today, and I agree that he is very much overpaid. But let's not give up on him just yet...

Ok this is what I understand would be the issue with that. From what I remember, or understood, when this topic was brought up about a year ago there are rules in place in the current deal that prohibit such moves.

What I understand is there will be penalities levied on teams who take the fact that 2010 would be an uncapped year to start dumping big contracts. If I remember right when it was brought up someone said that they would even possibly take draft picks away from teams who tried to use the uncapped year as a dumping ground for big contracts.

Yea so Ogletree can step in and be a star...

I cant tell if that is sarcasm or not, but if he doesnt get any better, then he is an extreme waste of money.

If miles keeps it up, he will deserve a raise, and we can go get bolden as well.

Wont happen, Jerry is slow to admit his mistakes.

even if they are not performing. I thought that was for people that were earning their pay, but teams were going in another directions etc.

Don't you think it's a little early to be thinking about cutting Roy?

Perhaps but if his production doesnt pick up this season why would we want to keep him especially if we could mitigate the cap ramifications of releasing him.

Id just assume not let this go on for several years.

It was very sarcastic, I'm not on the ogletree bandwagon.

Yes he's a waste at 1 rec 16 yards...but there is no reason to cut him. THis is the best offense in football, and they just dropped 30. He's still a playmaker and it seems like he's working hard to get it right with Romo.

It'll come.

Seriously. just cut the guy 6 games into the season? How about we injoy the win and how about some of you people stop trying to be GM's and head coaches for a week or two. A lot of y'all dont know anything whatsoever but are quick to make a comment about cutting and firing someone.

Im only thinking that way if he doesnt get any better. Im not ready for him to go now.
