Bruh what are you talking about? You just look for arguments. The point is most did not think it was going to happen because of the money that would have to be eaten, and there was no obvious replacement which made it a "wet dream". I dont have a problem with Roy, but he is simply not performing, and I dont know why. What did I say that was bitter, and why would I be? Cause TO is gone. I made numerous references saying I disagree with him being cut but if the team is better Im all for it, or if his production can be replaced Im cool. I also made a post saying that both sides lost. I swear you try to live out your name just for the sake of it sometimes. Maybe its you thats bitter b/c you are the one that said that Roy was gonna be a pro bowler this year. I made no claims of what TO would be doing in buffalo. I dont think he is a top 5 receiver, but I believe he would be out performing Roy with Romo.
I do not care whether TO or Roy outperforms the other. I do like taking shots at smug TO fans. For all the drama and we're going to rue the day predictions they sure have a lot of egg on their faces.

I still think Roy will matter to this team's success. And has mattered. Call me stubborn. I really don't care.

as long as you admit it then thats fine, and For the record I thought it was dumb to cut TO b/c he was our best receiver, but I also had us 8-1 thru the first 9 games. So it was not on "I didnt think we could perform without him kind of thing," I was on "why waste,9 mil and get worse, and less explosive."

Now when witten and the receivers were not showing up, I started to think we need him (i say him only because he was here) or someone like him, we have been getting that from miles the past few games, but lets not kid ourselves neither you or I expected those stats from austin.

Bitter, I will be tickled pink if Austin and Romo keep proving me wrong.

Roy is struggling, no doubt. But you don't cut him. That would be foolish. He is working hard and trying to improve.

One thing you cannot discount is his downfield blocking. Roy sells out to block for his fellow teammates.

So while he isn't making much of an impact catching the ball, he is finding other ways to contribute to the success of this team.
i know youre not trying to justify keeping a reciever making nearly 9 mill a yr for his down field blocking lol

Oh here come the wet dreams.

Venom has to be applied some where, especially after a win. When Roy has his break out game in Seattle, the venom will be applied to some one else. I do recall not too long ago people wanted to cut Miles, lol. Yep, our fans are fickled experts.

Ok this is what I understand would be the issue with that. From what I remember, or understood, when this topic was brought up about a year ago there are rules in place in the current deal that prohibit such moves.

What I understand is there will be penalities levied on teams who take the fact that 2010 would be an uncapped year to start dumping big contracts. If I remember right when it was brought up someone said that they would even possibly take draft picks away from teams who tried to use the uncapped year as a dumping ground for big contracts.

I want to see a follow up on this because the way I heard it was that teams must carry a minimum amount of salary ( I'm guessing the same figure they're supposed to be carrying right now ) or else they get penelized. I didn't hear anything about getting penelized for getting rid of big contracts.

Hope Adams would jump in on this.

Which is what they turn every Roy thread into.

you are dang right about that.

My only problem with Roy is that Jerry signed him for too much. If his production continues, then there is no reason to keep paying this much if there is an out.

-I dont want him cut now!
-I dont want him cut if he starts to produce
-I dont want him eating up cap space next year if this is what we are going to get

Why do people take offense to that? I know this is a message board, and people disagree, but what is there to disagree about?

I don't recall anybody wanting to cut Miles, but I do recall prayers were asked for the Jets to take him, prayers were asked for the Cowboys to bring in receivers because he ( along with Crayton and Hurd ) had been in the league for 4 years and " haven't done a thing yet " so they must be garbage, curses were thrown at the Cowboys front office for not drafting a receiver with a high pick in this draft...

so, yes, indeed, some our fans are fickled experts.

No offense taken, but there's not going to be a salary cap next year.

You are right Randy, and Im aware of that...The point of the whole thread was could he be cut so that we could take the cap hit in the uncapped year, and go get someone else (IF he does not pick up his play).

If you go do a search you will find plenty calling for Miles's head especially when the young free agent WR from a small college did not instantly turn into a pro bowler.

Our fans are very unreasonable but it is rooted in ignorance of the game and the crap that is being fed to them by the national and local media.

Experts is that an opportunity to rid ourselves of that contract?

We need to get rid of that idiot QB too. We should also let Ware walk.

Good grief people. Get a grip.

Cap space? What are you talking about? There is no cap next year. It's JJ's money. Let him spend it if he wants.

there is no comparison to Romo, and Ware to Roy. Roy has done much of nothing in 15 games with us. Even when Romo and Ware were playing bad, they have not had weeks and weeks of NON PRODUCTION.

No kidding. Que the "Lets cut Roy and sign Andre Johnson" stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought receivers like Johnson, Boldin, and Jackson would not be FAs if the cap was not in place?

I wouldn't mind taking Dez Bryant and cutting Roy though. Byrant might be there this with Dallas's pick in the draft.

Have you ever separated a rib? It was the most painful experience of my life. I could barely sit up in bed after cracking three ribs and separating two of them. Relax. Roy will be OK. It takes time. Austin took years to get on the same page with Romo. :)

I have...i did it water skiiing? It hurts like the dickens. I not angry with roy, I was speaking from the team standpoint if he and romo dont get on the same page. It could be Tony doesnt feel comfortable throwing to him b/c he doesnt get the seperation Tony likes. It may not be roys fault, but its still wasted money of Tony doesnt trust him.
