People will call me crazy, but posts like these make Cowboyszone great as it shows every opinion is welcomed, no matter how outlandish it may be.

I generally don't like to complain about what people post. If I don't like something, I just do like you stop reading or just offer the appropriate smiley.

Most can see that having Roy Williams as a 2nd or 3rd tier WR on any NFL roster is a huge advantage.

Because of the uncapped year there are different rules for the complete year 2009.

"In 2009, there is no June 1 rule for Signing Bonus acceleration. If a player is removed from the roster or his contract is assigned via waivers or trade at any time in the 2009 League Year, any unamortized signing bonus will be immediately included in Team Salary."

This means if we cut Roy this season we will have to eat all of his signing bonus this season. Which we are not able to do.

But the idea is to cut Roy AFTER this season and eat his signing bonus NEXT year because it is uncapped,,,

But to answer your idea. As far as i understand it because 2010 is going to be an uncapped year there will be no problem to cut Roy Williams in that year and basically eat all of his guaranteed money.

But i am not 100% sure about that. It's more that i don't find informations that forbid such a move nor define other rules.

Yeah TwentyOne is right. I did misread your answer. I was speaking of 2010, but still you were still trying to follow the original purpose of the post instead of all this other minutia, and that is what I appreciated. There is no way I would cut Roy before the offseason, and I hope it doesnt come to that then.
