Can roy be cut since next year is uncapped?

Seriously. just cut the guy 6 games into the season? How about we injoy the win and how about some of you people stop trying to be GM's and head coaches for a week or two. A lot of y'all dont know anything whatsoever but are quick to make a comment about cutting and firing someone.

He has been here a year. Did you forget he made no impact last year for half a season?

It was very sarcastic, I'm not on the ogletree bandwagon.

Yes he's a waste at 1 rec 16 yards...but there is no reason to cut him. THis is the best offense in football, and they just dropped 30. He's still a playmaker and it seems like he's working hard to get it right with Romo.

It'll come.

I by no means want him gone now, only if things continue to look like this at the end of the year.

even if they are not performing. I thought that was for people that were earning their pay, but teams were going in another directions etc.

That could be. I'm not sure. The problem will then be, as the NFLPA will throw a fit when it happens, rather they're going to be able to 100% sure someone isn't doing their job well enough. That would probably be a very sticky situation to get into with the NFLPA but you could be right on that aspect of it.

Oh here come the wet dreams.

No wet dream hostile, but if his stats continue to look like this (not saying they will) why not get out of the contract? If his seasons averages
continue to look like this are you saying you wouldnt make that move as a GM?

PS..Every 81 hater would have thought it was a wet dream for jerry to cut TO and eat 9 mil last year.

We've already paid him for the rest of the year and his salary for the rest of the year is guaranteed so there is no reason right now to cut him immediately. However, if he continues to show a poor attitude and inability to produce on the field, then he will be released in the offseason - just like Ken Hamlin will be.

I know that was Quincy/nflpa argument when the cowboys cut him for not performing. They said he was performing at a level exceeding others at the position.

I was only talking about the offseason, I said nothing about cutting him before then.

The big difference is every 81 hater will be right and this is just a bunch of bitter crap.

Did you forget that he was hurt and so was Tony Romo last year? Like i said, half the people on this forum think they're qualified to be the head coach or gm and they dont know anything. Threads like this prove my point. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even like Roy Williams.

Bruh what are you talking about? You just look for arguments. The point is most did not think it was going to happen because of the money that would have to be eaten, and there was no obvious replacement which made it a "wet dream". I dont have a problem with Roy, but he is simply not performing, and I dont know why. What did I say that was bitter, and why would I be? Cause TO is gone. I made numerous references saying I disagree with him being cut but if the team is better Im all for it, or if his production can be replaced Im cool. I also made a post saying that both sides lost. I swear you try to live out your name just for the sake of it sometimes. Maybe its you thats bitter b/c you are the one that said that Roy was gonna be a pro bowler this year. I made no claims of what TO would be doing in buffalo. I dont think he is a top 5 receiver, but I believe he would be out performing Roy with Romo.

Why cut him when you can trade him.

I think you could easily get a 3rd round pick for him. A 2nd round pick would be nice.

I'm not for trading him yet. But, if his play doesn't pick up and a good WR is available in the draft, I would definetely think about it.

no way we get a 2 or 3 with him playing at this level, and if he plays at a level where we can get that kind of pick then why trade him.

we should think about trading him to a team that has trouble protecting the QB

Roy is struggling, no doubt. But you don't cut him. That would be foolish. He is working hard and trying to improve.

One thing you cannot discount is his downfield blocking. Roy sells out to block for his fellow teammates.

So while he isn't making much of an impact catching the ball, he is finding other ways to contribute to the success of this team.

You're gonna get crucified for that.

It is a cross I am willing to bear......

As much as I disliked Owens, I must say, he too went out of his way to block for his teammates. I was very pleased with TO the blocker during his time in Big D. I feel the same way about Roy right now.

When we can plug him in at LT, I'll be impressed.

why? that's the key to any passing game

OK.... that was funny.

I am a little disappointed in Roy's production to date (not to the extent you are), but that was funny.
