Can someone tell me what Alfred Morris has done to be our starting HB?

less fumbles and knows the division, again you take away Zekes draft status and play Morris more and you ll be saying Zeke who?
He also averaged 3.7 yards a carry last year, and didnt run nearly as well as Zeke this week. And outside of a few runs in the second half against a defense that spent 70% of the first half on the field, he hasnt done anything this year to warrent a change. Draft position or no Zeke is the better HB

But what has Morris done to prove that he is better? Thats the question

5 carries for 7 yards isnt making more use of your touches

Last game he went 5 for 35.

Hard to prove if someone is better if he gets 5 carries a game.

He also played well in preseason, too.

Morris ain't the better talent. But what he makes up for in talent is his vision and patience.

Zeke had a fine game with two big problems later in the game. I'm not worried as he looked a lot better this week than last.

What has Elliott done other than be the 4th pick of the draft? Two bad fumbles today?

Frankly, I'd be fine with either starting.
He had a much better game then the week before. Has scored TD's in each of his two games. And give his fumble rate in college, im willing to consider todays fumbles an anomaly.

But they question of the thread is, what has Morris done to take his job?

A Morris looked slow and lethargic today and thats against his old team. He walked the td run in untouched.

He also got those yards VS a defense that spent 70% of the time on the field in the first half. Doing it in relief and as a starter are two different things. Morris hasnt shown me enough yet for me to call for him to start

Well, the way Garrett is handling the substitutions, he won't show you enough because he doesn't get on the field.
Whether it's due to draft status, Jerry Jones, practice or what, I haven't seen anything yet that shows that Zeke deserves 80% of the carries a game. First game he was under 3 yards a carry, and this game he fumbled twice.

I don't care who starts. It's meaningless.

I agree Morris should get more work, just because it helps no one to give Elliott a Murray like workload when you have a competent backup

We know what we have with Morris. We have yet to discover what we have with Zeke. He has the greater ceiling.

Having said that, I wouldn't be upset if Morris started. I thought that would be the case in preseason, i.e., starting Morris and letting Zeke come in when defenses are worn down. I think this way, Zeke has a better chance to break a long run.

Believe it or not, running styles sometimes dictate success. You ever wonder why one guy seems to get bottled up and another guy can come in and have success? It's because team's game plan against certain players.

I think if we start Morris, it'll be different. Nevertheless, any spot duty he has done well so it doesn't matter to me either way who starts.

Zeke -like Gurley thus year - is seeing tons of loaded boxes because teams aren't afraid of the QB. You might pick out a few times that he missed holes but that's something every back does. He's running into piles because he's smart enough not to try to improvise and potentially lose a ton of yards
Exactly.
Everyone's man crush Todd Gurley had another poor stats game again today.
Last week 17 for 47
Today 19 for 51

Funny what happens when a defense tries to stop you because they don't respect your downfield passing game.

Nothing. It's dumb.

He had 7 yards today on 5 carries.
I'd bet his numbers would have been up with more carries. I get that Zeke is the supposed future, but we need to play to win. Watching the fourth rounder not do much isn't going to help win. Seeing how Morris is averaging better through two games with far less carries, it wouldn't be dumb to use him more if your trying to win.

Morris does one thing. Defenses don't respect him like Zeke.
