Can someone tell me what Alfred Morris has done to be our starting HB?

Most people that are saying that probably didn't like the pick of EE back in May. People like to try to prove themselves to be correct even when they have no real evidence.

No real evidence?

3.3 YPC through his first two games.

Morris does one thing. Defenses don't respect him like Zeke.

What? Defenses respect a two week NFLer? I think defenses are probably not aware that Dak can beat them and Dallas is going to attempt to beat them on the ground period. Zeke had a terrible game last week and a so so game this week. I doubt he's scaring any one.

He had 5 carries for 7 yards (1.4 average).

EE had 21 for 83 yards (4.0 average) and a TD.

Zeke: 41 touches, 135 yards for 3.3 YPC

"We gotta get rid of McFadden and his 4.6 YPC...he only gets the yards that are blocked for him....he's not explosive like Zeke!"

That's the point though- just two games. The YPC will increase once Zeke gets into sync with his blockers (remember he missed training camp) and defenses realize Prescott can beat them through the air; and thus stop crowding the line.

In my opinion, I think it's unfair to throw dirt on a guy's career after eight quarters. And really, minus the fumbles, Zeke had a very nice game today.

Exactly.
Everyone's man crush Todd Gurley had another poor stats game again today.
Last week 17 for 47
Today 19 for 51

Funny what happens when a defense tries to stop you because they don't respect your downfield passing game.

Poor game if you look at the stats. Good game if you realize it is an 8-man front nearly every play.

If we can involve Dez and Beasley as we did today, things will start opening up in the run game

He's also not being gameplan against like Zeke

Lots of people calling for Elliott to get benched for Morris. Im just curious as to what Morris has done so far this season that you feel better with him as opposed to Elliott

Morris had a very good pre-season and he's been a solid pro. He should have started over Elliot just because he earned it. Even Emmitt didn't start his rookie year I think.

My beef isn't with Zeke necessarily. I think he'll be fine in the long term, though he hasn't showed well thus far which is surprising.

I just have fun prodding the naive fanboys who were stridently predicting 2000+ yards, ROY awards, and justifying every ridiculous reason why spending a #4 overall pick on a RB was actually a prudent move. I'd only spend a Top 5 pick on an Adrian Peterson type back and Elliott's not that.

Teams aren't game planning to stop Zeke. They're scheming to stop Dallas' run game, which includes Morris in an effort to make the offense one-dimensional and force a rookie QB to try to beat them.

I didnt the pick after it happened because if he was the top talent on there board, it was a sound move IMO. I look at the draft as talent collection.

But the best you can realistically expect from a rooke HB is 1,300 yards. And that's generous. In fact thats the most you can expect from any top HB. You may get a Murray, or a Charles or a Peterson who go well over that in a given year. But 1,300 yards is really what you realistically expect. With Morris I think 1,100 is a good mark for Zeke

I'd like to see more of an even split. If Zeke wants 20 carries make him beat out Morris to earn it. In the meantime we aren't running our top 4 pick into the ground year 1.
