I fight discrimination every day, the details of which I will not describe here, but I will say I don't do it by being a sanctimonious blowhard in a football related forum.

I have no doubt you think you do

It's called self delusion
Look it up

Here's a crazy thought

The 'most powerful message' might be to understand that there are people in our great country who are being discriminated against every single day in their life and actually take our head out of the sand and do something about it?

Crazy I know

Some people are comfortable going on about their daily lives as long as things don't impact them. The same who day that people have no reason or valid feeling to protest the racial issues still facing America. For example "They're making millions of dollars how are they oppressed. If you don't like it here in America then leave" Or will rather downplay how racism still plays a factor, instead of addressing the issue.

The same people who will ignore other people's valid feelings and reasons for protesting, are now protesting because their feelings/views were impacted by players kneeling. And the same who would like to ignore people's reasons for protesting racial injustice, would now be outraged if their protest of the NFL is ignored and their boycott doesn't go as they want it to.

Then they will feel like their voices are ignored. Like many including the players kneeling have felt like their voices are ignored.

But your post said you have to find a stream?

So if you're not going to watch them why find a stream?
I didn't say anything about finding a stream. I said the best way to hit the NFL would be to stop watching on TV. If that happened in very large numbers, it would hit much harder than a couple thousand fans staying home from the stadiums. I was asked if streaming was OK as an alternative to "not watching on TV"..... I don't care what anyone does but IMHO if you stream a game instead of watching it, it will not have the effect of an organized protest.

Please note that I am just giving my opinion on how to best hit the NFL, but I am NOT saying that I am boycotting the NFL myself. I will be watching them this Sunday. And probably Monday. (Tonight I will focus on the Longhorns but swap over to NFL during commercials and halftime).

Its funny how people who support the players right to protest are against the fans right to protest the players.

Not that I think this idea will work anymore than millionaires kneeling while they are getting paid said millions while a song plays.

I am not against their right to protest the players. Have at it.

But I find it to be stupid and petty and honestly, bizarre.

I'm in total support of fan protest. I hope they are some of the fantasy and fringe fans that have ballooned the increase in revenue in recent years.

I hope the downturn stops Thursday nite games and drops ticket and merchandise prices .

Let's hope it's more than just a protest but a life boycott.

I've totally boycotted NASCAR because they tolerate the display of Confederate flags.

They appear to have survived unfortunately.

Protesting is all about making people uncomfortable
Protesting in everybody's comfort zone is not effective
Change is not comfortable

Just my .02

I agree. I just find that protests were guided by a con man and the protests started the discussion of divisiveness in this country and the anti-protesters have every right to be upset and make the lives of those protesters uncomfortable.

And I don't think it's the time or the place for it. If I go to a concert and the band starts expressing their political views which consist of how fatherless households are destroying black communities...I may agree with them but I didn't pay and take the time to come hear it. If they want to express their political views, set up an event specifically to voice their political views and I might come to hear it.

And thats how many of those fans probably feel about kneeling when the anthem and flag is displayed ........ while making millions.

The fact they make millions is besides the point and frankly shows just how bizarre the debate has become when people use that as a reason why they shouldn't be protesting.

They aren't protesting things that are happening in their own lives. The protests started over what they thought was happening to African Americans around the country with regards to police interaction. The fact they make millions is an inconsequential point. I didn't realize there was an income limit that once one crosses it, they can't protest something or speak out about something that they find egregious in society.

With all the stuff in this world going on, the fact this has made some people so upset and outspoken is bizarre to me. I read on another board and it had my cracking up. More people in the state of Alabama are apparently upset with the player protests than they are of the fact that they just nominated a GOP candidate for Senate who thinks 9/11 was actually a divine act punishing the country for not being religious enough, that thinks homosexuality should be made illegal, who thinks that basically only Jews and Christians should be able to serve in government, etc.

Think about that for a second.

Yup...it has to be a lopsided issue for it to have any effect.

See: Chick Fil A CEO anti-homosexual comments protest...they broke every sales record known.
And the intolerant folks that mischaracterize religion for "anti-homosexual" don't understand why. LOL

I think you misunderstand ........they are not doing this on their own time ....... they are doing it while making millions of dollars at work.

If it really mattered to them they would do it on their on time ......... they are sacrificing nothing in how they are "protesting" now.

In stadiums that are mostly funded by tax payers.

Can we organize this with all the other upset fans of how we are sick and tired of this kneel, hide in the tunnels, fist in the air crap? Do your stupid protest and game to an empty stadium.I believe the NFL will get the message then.
This solution assumes that all fans that would attend games agree with you, which would be a poor assumption.

Exactly. I don't care if they protest heck to a large degree I agree with them however many of us feel they have disrespected something we hold as important. Players have time during the week where they can go out and make their voices heard not just making a gesture but to get up and talk about their views and to rally the community but what is taking place right now is not rallying many, it is doing the exact opposite. What is it out of their way to take the Tuesday off they get to hold a rally? Too much of an inconvenience? If what they say they believe is so important it should not be a big deal to use their time off to confront their issues
