Can we admit that Church is terrible in space yet?

I know he has his legions of supporters but I for one never want to see him taking the deep middle or deep half again.

The Tate TD was an example but they called on him to bracket Megatron several times and the play from 12 yards away technique just isn't going to do.

We need a true FS in the worst way.

His tackling isn't as good this year either. Best I can tell he is taking too many kill shots this year.

Last year he was a hoover of a tackler. If he got his hands on you it was all over.

Scandrick can turn his hips and isn't a S. There were a couple zone calls and overruns that had me scratching my head but what exactly ware you talking about?

Both Wilcox and Church have their warts, but they're what we've got. I think Church has enough + to make up for his -.

Either way... I'm not sure right now is the best time to have having a, "This guy sucks." conversation, we're still alive and none of that is changing.

It wasn't a big deal since they didnt score, but question regarding Scandrick and the throw to Tate on that 3rd down in the redzone. For whatever reason Scandrick opened up off the line of scrimmage and gave Tate the inside, yet there was no linebacker or safety there in support. We dodged a bullet there because Stafford overthrew him I'm wondering if that is proper technique in that situation

He looked sluggish but played OK. Reggie Bush juked him out of his boots on that TD run.

We have 2 strong safeties back there. We need a ballhawk FS. Whether it's free agency or the draft, I don't care. We need safeties who complement each other, not 2 guys who are essentially the same player.

People can talk about the negatives of Church and Wilcox's game but fact is, they are about as good as what most teams throw out there in this league. Chances are whoever you replace them with will be as good or worse. Sure it would be great to have Earl Thomas back there but there's only one Earl Thomas and one Cam Chancellor. There's Eric Berry......who i'm not sure if he'll play again or what.

I remember one missed tackle he had that would've been a tough tackle if he made it. Hard to complain about Tate and Calvin somewhat being held in check with Tate's yards coming mostly in the 1st quarter.

I'm not asking for a ball hawk. I am asking for a guy that can turn his hips and run with a guy that is 8 yards in front of him. Tate made a mediocre cut and broke Church's ankles.

Probably not very many.

Let me say it this way: we need one safety whose strength is that he can play in the box and be a sure tackler. The second has to be able to play in space that can cover slot receivers and TE's.

Church and Wilcox can do the first, but not the second.
