Can we go 11-5? What you all think?

11 - 5? No Sir! We will be hard pressed to get to 10 - 6 If we can't win 1 of these next 2 without Romo. Even when Romo gets back we'd pretty much have to run the table to get to 11 - 5 or 10 - 6. I have a feeling the injury is even more serious and upper management doesn't want the fans to know Romo will be out longer because fans would feel the season is tanked without him. If Romo comes back I'm afaid we are looking at a 9-7 maybe 10 - 6 . Without Romo worse than 8 - 8.

I said that at he start of season we could go 12-4 , after our current situation i still think we can go 11-5, but 10-6 is more realistic, the question is - is that good enough to get in????

Couple things.

Bucs haven't allowed a 100 yard rusher this season, and only 1 was able to crack 60 or more. Our linebackers, Barret Ruud and Cato June in particular, have been playing out of their skulls. Our pass defense has new wrinkles that is confusing the hell out of passing offenses. A zone blitz added to the Tampa 2? Yup.

Brad Johnson is a sitting duck. Gaines Adams and Greg White will be in his face all day, and making him do things that his 40 year-old body won't let him do. I hope Jason Garrett has alot of 1 step drops in the offensive package for this week, because that'll be the only way to slow our pass rush.

Then there's the offense. And not Jeff Garcia. Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn behind the best young offensive line in the league. That group, is as aggressive as any in the NFL. And one of it's best kept secrets. Combine that with a Cowboy defense that tackles like a JV team.... it's a recipe for disaster.

Then after you fellas are done with us, your schedule reads....

@ Giants
@ Commanders
49ers
Seahawks
@ Steelers
Giants
Ravens
@ Eagles

4 tough division games, 2 games against nightmare defenses, and a possible trap/letdown game with the 49ers, who (like the Rams under Haslett) may be playing with a renewed sense fire and purpose in a weak division.

As easily as you think 11-5, it very well could be 6-10.

Wow, Bucs fans talking trash, what is the world coming to.

I actually think everything he said was realistic. Non offensive also.

A sad but true kinda thing.

How about worrying about the Bucs? Seems some of the fans around here have the same attitude as the team. An 11-5 record is not going to be handed to you.

I think most fans around here think we are going to get our teeth kicked in with Brad at QB this Sunday.

When you know you have no chance, not much to talk about concerning the Bucs.

You actually think we got a shot with Brad at QB against the Bucs???

The way I see it the rest of your schedule...

@ Giants - Probably a loss ... Eli is up and down but that defense can eat anyone alive

@ Commanders - Commanders are the heart break team they will not win by much or loos e by much, but the Commanders still take the skins/boys rivalry seriously so will be after you if they smell blood. If Romo is still out could be ugly .. if he is back then who knows but the problem is offense isn't your biggest problem .

49ers should be a win . Should be but the 9ers could be playing care free football by now and could be dangerous

Seahawks ... win much like the 9ers ...the advantage you have here is playing them at home

@ Steelers Loss ... Steelers are playing well solid football much like the Giants and the Commanders earlier in the schedule . The current Cowboys team don't like that so could be a big loss

Giants Three things come into play here .
No 1 playing a playoff hunting Giants team, may be battling with the Skins/Eagles so may be focused still . They may be vunerable if Manning plays his typical mid season form .
No 2 . However at this point the Boys may be looking up from 4th place in the division .
No 3 The final thing to consider is it is a december game and we all know how find you are of playing meaningful games in December and January.

Ravens - It may not matter any more - loss

@ Eagles - Fight with pride for the last game in Texas Stadium ? The Cowboys ? I doubt it - loss .

So with losses to the Bucs Giants Steelers and Eagles probable

50:50 games at the Ravens, Commanders, 9ers and seahwks and no real gimmie games left ...

hmm sure 11-5 is possible but not real probable . 8-8 maybe closer to the truth but loose to the Skins again or the 49ers and 6-10 is looming or worse .

this is a mentally fragile team....they enjoy everything rosy and pretty....they have no interest in playing all 16 games as if it were there last if they KNOW 11-5 is not achievable....and then we will all find out what i have been saying.....these guys are no longer football playeers...they are fat, lazy overpaid actors. and no coach is going to change that. if we lose the next 2 games this team will fold camp. keep in mind the giants went 9-7 and still won the super bowl. this team has no interest in going 9-7....because it would be embarassing. but we are experiencing multiple iinjuries for the first time in many years and we are not responding well at all. everyone is looking at the next guy to do something to turn this thing around...instead of EVERYBODY doing there job.
The Giants went 10-6.

Right now, I'd set the over/under on Cowboy wins at 9. Unless the defense does a 180, we're on the cusp of being 4-5, and a 5-2 finish is no given with the games we have left.

I'm thinking 6-10. I really hope I'm wrong, but I've seen too many seasons like this where the expectations were too high and the team started playing bad and then the media jumped all over this team like a pack of wolves on a steak. We may be lucky to get two more wins.

When Romo gets back, things will change. Brad Johnson is done in the NFL. His passes last week were not even mediocre. With Brad Johnson as QB, we would be lucky to win another game.

Look at how many people are injured. Does it surprise you that we suck right now?

QB Tony Romo (finger) - Romo did not play in Sunday's game. He was the backup quarterback and had his fractured throwing pinkie protected by a splint and bandages. Wade Phillips said his status for this week was "To be determined." Phillips also expected the approach to the injury this week to be similar to last week.

S Roy Williams (forearm) - The five-time Pro Bowler returned to the field Sunday for the first time since Week Two, but it proved to be too early. Williams again broke his right arm, this time in a different spot. He will be placed on IR and will wear a cast instead of facing surgery.

LB Bradie James (elbow) - James suffered a hyper-extended left elbow during the second quarter Sunday, but returned to the game the next series. In the locker room after the game, the elbow was wrapped with ice. He told a coach he hoped to practice this week, and didn't have any protection over the arm Monday.

S Keith Davis (head) - After losing vision momentarily and having his eyelid flip open on a big block on special teams, Davis returned to the game after a break. He also played Sunday with a lacerated thumb.

RB Felix Jones (hamstring) - Missed practice all week and is out two to four weeks after pulling his hamstring early in the third quarter against Arizona. He did not travel to St. Louis.

LB Kevin Burnett (calf) - The Cowboys special teams ace and sub-package linebacker was held out of practice all week with a calf strain evidently suffered in the Arizona game. He said the calf was fine, but Burnett did not take his usual role on the nickel and dime defense, and had more limited duty on special teams.

LB Anthony Spencer (hamstring) - Suffered the hamstring strain against the Cardinals and was out for the St. Louis game after missing all week of practice. Early last week, Phillips classified him as week to week.

CB Terence Newman (sports hernia) - Had surgery performed by hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Durham, N.C., Oct. 10 and is expected to be out at least four weeks. Mike Jenkins will replace him in the starting lineup after Pacman Jones' suspension, and Orlando Scandrick will come in on the sub-packages.

LG Kyle Kosier (foot) - While Wade Phillips said Kosier is close to a return, the veteran guard isn't quite back after reinjuring his foot against Green Bay. He didn't travel to St. Louis. Cory Procter has filled in as the starter, but Montrae Holland got some work for the third straight game.

S Pat Watkins (neck) - Despite having full participation in practice this week, Watkins was ruled out on Friday, making the game the third straight he didn't play, recovering from reoccurring stinger injuries.

NT Tank Johnson (ankle) - Johnson has been dealing with a nagging right ankle injury suffered in Week Three against Green Bay, but has not missed a game. He played behind Jay Ratliff Sunday.

DE Marcus Spears (illness) - The defensive end played Sunday while still fighting through a stomach virus that forced him out of practice Friday.

P Mat McBriar (foot) - Has been placed on injured reserve with fractured bones in his right foot after Arizona's Sean Morey collided with him on the blocked punt to end Sunday's game. That means he is out for the season. The Cowboys have signed first-year punter Sam Paulescu to replace him.

WR Sam Hurd (ankle) - Had surgery to repair torn ligaments after he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cardinals last Sunday. The Cowboys placed him on injured reserve on Oct. 16 to make room for veteran linebacker Carlos Polk.

I think if this teams plays up to their ability then yes we can go 11-5 or better on the season. I still believe we have the talent but it is up to the players to go out and do the job.

I put the injuries that hurt the most in bold. I didn't bold Felix because he is a rookie and we went 13-3 last year.....

well...my point is the Cowboys are not interested in doing anything unless they can do it in style....if we lose the next 2 games we will fold camp

If we finish 11-5...wow. I don't know. I might dance around in the streets of my hometown naked.

Ok, probably not, but I might dance around none the less, which is bad enough on the eyes of those who would see it.

Yeah this is close to how I see it.

We need to get to 7-3 or 8-3 first to have any shot at 10-6 or 11-5.
