Can we go 11-5? What you all think?

Yeah this is close to how I see it.

We need to get to 7-3 or 8-3 first to have any shot at 10-6 or 11-5.
We have to get to 8-3 to finish 10-6? If we somehow got to 8-3, 11-5 would be a disappointment (let alone 10-6), given that being 8-3 means we would've won in NY without Romo, and then won in Washington.

I like our odds much better with Romo back after the bye. If we're 5-4 at the bye, I'd take it. Going to NY and winning without Romo just isn't going to happen.

When Romo gets back, things will change. Brad Johnson is done in the NFL. His passes last week were not even mediocre. With Brad Johnson as QB, we would be lucky to win another game.

Look at how many people are injured. Does it surprise you that we suck right now?

QB Tony Romo (finger) - Romo did not play in Sunday's game. He was the backup quarterback and had his fractured throwing pinkie protected by a splint and bandages. Wade Phillips said his status for this week was "To be determined." Phillips also expected the approach to the injury this week to be similar to last week.

S Roy Williams (forearm) - The five-time Pro Bowler returned to the field Sunday for the first time since Week Two, but it proved to be too early. Williams again broke his right arm, this time in a different spot. He will be placed on IR and will wear a cast instead of facing surgery.

LB Bradie James (elbow) - James suffered a hyper-extended left elbow during the second quarter Sunday, but returned to the game the next series. In the locker room after the game, the elbow was wrapped with ice. He told a coach he hoped to practice this week, and didn't have any protection over the arm Monday.

S Keith Davis (head) - After losing vision momentarily and having his eyelid flip open on a big block on special teams, Davis returned to the game after a break. He also played Sunday with a lacerated thumb.

RB Felix Jones (hamstring) - Missed practice all week and is out two to four weeks after pulling his hamstring early in the third quarter against Arizona. He did not travel to St. Louis.

LB Kevin Burnett (calf) - The Cowboys special teams ace and sub-package linebacker was held out of practice all week with a calf strain evidently suffered in the Arizona game. He said the calf was fine, but Burnett did not take his usual role on the nickel and dime defense, and had more limited duty on special teams.

LB Anthony Spencer (hamstring) - Suffered the hamstring strain against the Cardinals and was out for the St. Louis game after missing all week of practice. Early last week, Phillips classified him as week to week.

CB Terence Newman (sports hernia) - Had surgery performed by hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Durham, N.C., Oct. 10 and is expected to be out at least four weeks. Mike Jenkins will replace him in the starting lineup after Pacman Jones' suspension, and Orlando Scandrick will come in on the sub-packages.

LG Kyle Kosier (foot) - While Wade Phillips said Kosier is close to a return, the veteran guard isn't quite back after reinjuring his foot against Green Bay. He didn't travel to St. Louis. Cory Procter has filled in as the starter, but Montrae Holland got some work for the third straight game.

S Pat Watkins (neck) - Despite having full participation in practice this week, Watkins was ruled out on Friday, making the game the third straight he didn't play, recovering from reoccurring stinger injuries.

NT Tank Johnson (ankle) - Johnson has been dealing with a nagging right ankle injury suffered in Week Three against Green Bay, but has not missed a game. He played behind Jay Ratliff Sunday.

DE Marcus Spears (illness) - The defensive end played Sunday while still fighting through a stomach virus that forced him out of practice Friday.

P Mat McBriar (foot) - Has been placed on injured reserve with fractured bones in his right foot after Arizona's Sean Morey collided with him on the blocked punt to end Sunday's game. That means he is out for the season. The Cowboys have signed first-year punter Sam Paulescu to replace him.

WR Sam Hurd (ankle) - Had surgery to repair torn ligaments after he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cardinals last Sunday. The Cowboys placed him on injured reserve on Oct. 16 to make room for veteran linebacker Carlos Polk.
Other than Romo, there isn't a single injury we shouldn't be able to overcome. Every team is banged up. We're just a little less fortunate than in the past.

Probably no team can overcome losing its starting QB and still be a contender, but using the others as a reason for last Sunday is just an excuse.

My bad.. I left out the word "respectively"... thought I layed it out accordingly.

7-3 could get us 10-6 (3-3 down the stretch)
8-3 could get us 11-5 (3-2 down the stretch)

Given our December issues... thats probably pretty accurate,.

What's more accurate is that if our December issues continue, we're probably looking at 7-9 or some such.

11-5 - No chance.

This team couldn't beat the Cards with Romo and got crushed by the sad sack Rams without him. We're 4-3, no way we go 7-2 the rest of the way.

have any of the people who are saying anything better than 9-7 looked at the schedule ? oh wait, I just looked at the schedule again and 9-7 may be optimistic.

As I said if and right now that is a big if but if they play up to what they are capable of Dallas has the talent to beat any team out there. I'm not saying Dallas will or will not play up to their ability but I do know what this team can do when they are hitting on all cylinders

I'm thinking 6-10. I really hope I'm wrong, but I've seen too many seasons like this where the expectations were too high and the team started playing bad and then the media jumped all over this team like a pack of wolves on a steak. We may be lucky to get two more wins.

Romo aint playing so we are done

honestly i dont care what you all say...we wont win the next 2 games with brad starting...Newman hurt.....and the D playing like crap...im praying we win..but i have to real with my self

i think our D will come out with Fire...if we can shut down the Bucs poor WR's and at least hold them to field goals...we can hopefully win...that tampa 2 might cause trouble..n hopefully we contain Bryant..i think Henry can

i miss tony

I said these same things last week. This team has no "fire".

They really don't. If they did, they would have manned up by now. they would have gotten mad and decided that they were tired of being man handled by an inferior team. This team is simply happy to go out and go through the motions, get their collective ***es whipped, then say a few sentences about how they need to come together. They jump into their $50,000.00 dollar vehicles, light up their cuban cigars, and smile all the way home to their million dollar homes.

While people on this site worry and stress out over how we can pull out a wildcard berth and maybe salvage this season that has disaster written all over it. Fact is, people on here care more about winning than most of the players on this team do.

Fire. No there is no fire. You will probably notice that by about 1230 central time this Sunday.

I'd rather have a group of player like the Dolphins. They are short on talent, but they play a lot harder than the Cowboys ever dreamed of playing.

I really feel our playoff chances are determined by these next two games. After learning of Romo's injury, I said, and still stand firm behind this, we will be fine unless we a lay a goose egg for the next 3 games. I figured we'd win the Rams game and be okay, but that didn't happen. We have to win TB or NY, winning both would be better, but realistically, with all the injuries, we gotta find a way to just win one. After the bye, Romo, Felix, Newman, Spencer, Watkins, Kosier, etc, etc, etc should be back. We just have to get down and play mean football for two weeks and do the best we can. If we head into the bye at 5-4, I have no doubt we'll finish 11-5. But we cannot afford to go into the bye 4-5.

The way I see it the rest of your schedule...

@ Giants - Probably a loss ... Eli is up and down but that defense can eat anyone alive

@ Commanders - Commanders are the heart break team they will not win by much or loos e by much, but the Commanders still take the skins/boys rivalry seriously so will be after you if they smell blood. If Romo is still out could be ugly .. if he is back then who knows but the problem is offense isn't your biggest problem .

49ers should be a win . Should be but the 9ers could be playing care free football by now and could be dangerous

Seahawks ... win much like the 9ers ...the advantage you have here is playing them at home

@ Steelers Loss ... Steelers are playing well solid football much like the Giants and the Commanders earlier in the schedule . The current Cowboys team don't like that so could be a big loss

Giants Three things come into play here .
No 1 playing a playoff hunting Giants team, may be battling with the Skins/Eagles so may be focused still . They may be vunerable if Manning plays his typical mid season form .
No 2 . However at this point the Boys may be looking up from 4th place in the division .
No 3 The final thing to consider is it is a december game and we all know how find you are of playing meaningful games in December and January.

Ravens - It may not matter any more - loss

@ Eagles - Fight with pride for the last game in Texas Stadium ? The Cowboys ? I doubt it - loss .

So with losses to the Bucs Giants Steelers and Eagles probable

50:50 games at the Ravens, Commanders, 9ers and seahwks and no real gimmie games left ...

hmm sure 11-5 is possible but not real probable . 8-8 maybe closer to the truth but loose to the Skins again or the 49ers and 6-10 is looming or worse .

Good post.

9-7 is the likely outcome, and a playoff spot will be dependant on the last 2 weeks of the season for you folks.

11-5? Have you watched us play the last 4 weeks? We will be really lucky to finish 10-6 and squeek into the playoffs. Personally I think we are done if we dont find a way to win one of the next 2 games without Romo, no way can we afford to be 4-5 going into the bye week.

I can't get why everyone's so worried about making the playoffs. If we play like we've been playing, even if we lucked-out and got in, we'd be one and done. again. :(

Lets focus on the games at hand. The boys need to show some consistent improvement in their individual games and come together as a team before I'll start considering a playoff run. :(

This team has played poor special teams since August and letting ROOKIE WRs eat them up since the Broncos game. Yeah recall EDDIE ROYALs name at all from the summer? So now they can flip the switch after getting their PUNTER KILLED and giving up more yards to ROOKIE WRs than any team in the league! Good luck on holding your breath.

That is the great thing not all of us have to give up on the season. Some of will stick with the team come hell or high water. No doubt if we continue to play as we did last week this team is sunk. Myself, I think this team is capable of playing much better than they have shown. Dallas can't do anything to change what has taken place they can only address what happens ahead of them.

You could also add Flozell to that list as well - They've said he still can't bring his arm above his head yet. That tends to hurt a LT somewhat.

Plus, isn't Gurode banged up as well?

Also, Brian Stewart is our defensive cord. - that should count as an injury as well.
