Can we have a Trey Lance discussion?

In your own mind maybe lol. Sure bud. Keep it up. Mainstream to me seems to be a lot of the talking heads having Dak in the top 10. Even top 6. and if that's the case. He is ELITE. He isn't elite in your mind. But then again. You said Mahomes and Watson weren't either so your ability to judge a QB needs to be questioned at every turn.

Or do you want to disregard what Aikman, Jimmy Johnson and company have said about Dak? I mean you couldnt wait to post Jimmy when it suited your agenda. So i am just curious.

Like I’ve said.. Dallas will do things your way in the end and we can all sit back and watch it fail together just like all of these other teams without elite QBs are watching their situations fall apart.

You want to bet on that? Since you are so confident? I am curious as to why you believe you can just find a QB in the draft but we cant fix our defense the same way? Thats all I am asking. You cant have it both ways.

Everyrhing on this team is trending down except the WR situation.

We have a top ten pick and 10 overall picks. If we cant help our defense with that, QB is the last of our problems and dumb and dumber upstairs need to go hide on the yacht lol.

Not in the first - 2nd at highest. However, he reminds me a ton of our currently hobbled QB.

Those are not second round skills. You take a big bet on this guy and the payoff is huge.

I'm trying to think of the last really athletic 1st round QB that flamed out in the NFL. Maybe Paxton Lynch? Meanwhile, we've seen all kinds of super-toolsy QBs succeed despite any number of question marks in college. Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Herbert, Mahomes.... The NFL's increasing transition into sandlot 8 on 8 football rewards raw tools and mitigates any concerns about playing in structure.

If anything, the "pro-style" QBs who play inside of structure look like a FAR higher risk than the unpolished athletes. Rosen and Haskins were both 100% structure QBs and flamed out incredibly hard, Darnold sucks (in fairness, Adam Gase is one of football's biggest mitigating factors). Mayfield may have turned a corner, but IMO, he is going to be a Kirk Cousins type QB who looks good playing good offenses and bad on bad offenses. Etc.

Basically with Lance, I just need to see the Cam Newton-esque physical tools and need to see one season showing he's got any sort of game, and if those check out, then he's a first rounder.
