People bash dez even if he was constantly getting open and either dropping the ball or simply not getting it.
I noticed no criticism whenever cooper dropped the ball and was a reason why oakland shipped him away. And no criticism of his 3 duds to end the regular season. I think Cooper is definitely top 12, but I also noticed some are quick to hype him and forget about duds, where they were quick to bash the previous wr for the same results...the guy who apparently is slow and can't run routes
- Since he's arrived here in Dallas, what has been his Duds here ?
- Apparently we aren't hearing the criticism because he hasn't had the drop the ball here in Dallas.
I dunno what the deal was with supposedly drops, but so far he has not displayed the dropsies issues here with the Cowboys. If anything he is showing he has natural snatch- catch ability.
- But I’m loving Cooper’s stick glue hands, absolute dynamite footwork and route running and RAC run skills. He continues to spin CBs around with his quickness and he can turn a short slant into a big home run TD catch. Or simply fly by CBs over the top.
And he’s not diva head case either. We won’t hear him flapping and bumping his gums in the locker room about his QB or coaches like we do with Antonio Brown or O.J. Beckham.
- And with Coopers’ supposed issues with Oak, You never know when a change of football atmosphere does wonders for a players confidence and motivation.
Who knows how the Gruden camp affected Cooper’s mood and morale. But I’m definitely not seeing that as an issue now.
- Further into his career, Dez seem to depend solely on his size, muscle-physicality and jump ball skills to get open. As he sustains more leg injuries, that much more wear and tear toll on his body and gets that much older, - and he’s never been an elite route runner, It became more apparent that he was finding it more difficult to separate from the league’s coverage CBs. Even the lesser regarded ones.
Declining as a performing player and also an annoying, disruptive factor in Dak’s ear was apparently enough to not only not warranted 16-17 mill, but Cowboys brass also wanted to create that Dak-friendly atmosphere. Cowboys were determined to create and move on from a life without Dez at the Star Frisco.
