Canty signs 6 year, $42 million dollar deal with Giants *merge*

I liken this one to us letting Dockery go 2 years ago. He was a good player, but no way worth what the Bills paid. I would not be shocked if in a couple years the Giants realize they overpaid, and you guys get him back at a better deal. A lot of players like to "come home again"

Hopefully, we'll have somebody better by then.

Home to Canty is in your teams neck of the woods.

Cost aside, this is a major blow to our line. Hatcher is a HUGE dropoff in quality.

Sickening that this good D-lineman, in his prime, is playing for a division rival now. However, that price was just too steep. We need to continue to draft well and our young guys (like Hatcher and Bowen) need to step-up. My God, I hate the Giants...

IF Dallas thought he was the cure all, end all Canty would be still in a Dallas Cowboys uniform. It will be ok ....;)

I wouldn't say he's a huge drop off in quality. Canty was solid, nothing spectacular. As far as I can tell Hatcher is solid, nothing spectacular. These guys really aren't that critical to the scheme in the end.

at least Hatcher gives us what Canty rarely could...pressure

We hope. There's a reason Canty started over him.

With the rumors of Rat moving to Canty's spot, NT looks a lot more interesting now.

As in we have none. Sure Rat can play it and Spears can probably fill in, but we need a plugger to leave James and Brookingses free to fill the gap or rush inside.

Guess I'm in for a nick change.

But $42 mil? Never. Chris got a great deal. :lmao2:

Hey if you decide to change your nickname, PM Hostile with your request.

Yeah CC99, you need a new name.

Just make sure to put in your sig "the poster formerly known as CC99" so we know who you are!

yeah the coaches are stupid. their was also a reason miles austin was returning kicks instead of Felix. Anthony henry was starting over jenkins and scandrick. cory proctor was starting over anybody.

Too much money. He is not worth it. Glad Jerruh said no. The Rat can do end quite well. We now have to find a good NT.

Probowls don't make a player good or bad. Newman got paid and he hasn't been to a probowl.

yes he has, last yr

and he should have been in several

Hopefully he'll step up if he gets the chance.

This does look like a decent yr for 3-4 DE's in the draft though. So we should be able to add someone who can at least play a role.

And of course free ageny isnt over yet either.

I think he probably started over him because he was a year ahead of him. If they'd been drafted in reverse, I doubt that would have been the case.

Agreed, this is a deep draft for 3-4 linemen prospects.

Ahhh well. It sucks that he went to the Giants and will help their already very fine D-Line but that's just how it goes.
