CAP Date - March 16

The Cowboys ( and every other team in the NFL) have to get under the CAP March 16th. That just 20 days from this post. A lot is going to start happening soon. The moves the Cowboys make will tell us how aggressive they will be trying to retain their own players. If we see a slew of restructures to create $20 million to $30 million in CAP room, it will probably be a sign they want their guys back. The Cowboys rookie pool, the amount of CAP room they can allocate to rookies, will probably be about $5 million and does not have to be available until they start signing rookies. The Cowboys will probably clear enough to sign the guys they want to keep plus a couple of cheap free agents, then clear more space later by cutting or restructuring someone after the draft.
