I told you so! Some of you said Dez would make a difference but I astutely assessed, no he won't without Romo.

He probably would have against the Giants, Saints or Falcons but Seattle does not need to double Dez like other teams would because Sherman can cover him 1-on-1.

And as bad as the Cowboys are, The rest of the East is just as bad. I'm with you, The coaches are the one to blame here

probably would have? I hear some doubt in that.

Every week it's "almost"...

Yes, with a backup QB you need to keep it close and then you need a little luck.

The Cowboys seem to be getting the opposite of good luck when it comes to the refs.

Cassel's arm is a freakin' noodle. What are your choices? 1. He's overly aggressive and clueless throwing INTs or 2. He's cautious, checking down to open receivers.

Sherman is a beast...totally shut down Dez. Caseload still took chances and was lucky not to have thrown 2-3 more INTs. Our receivers cannot win battles, other than Dez against mere humans. Tony gets them into the right formations and plays and gets the ball to guys in ways that beat the defense, not the defender.

Our problem is most receivers can defeat both our defense and our defenders.

Proud of guys who played all out today, keeping the game close, but this offense without Tony is a train wreck vs good defenses.

The good news is this offense will be able to score so the Eagles next week.

Thanks, Coach. Why haven't you gotten a job in the NFL yet? Sure do seem to know what the Cowboys should be doing much more than the coaches we currently have.

I chose a different career path, I regret it everyday. And besides, this is a message board, it ok to express your opinions. You don't have to recite the company line.

Hey, the losing sucks. Really hard. I still think playing the probabilities makes more sense than going against them does. It's just really not fun to watch.

Then again, maybe we'll watch the film and see all kinds of missed opportunities. To me, other than the ST coverage units sucking, I thought this was two pretty good teams with two bad W/L records slugging out a close football game. SEA was playing hard, and we didn't have any magic to pull out and use at the end against that good defense.

You're absolutely correct.. The tape review should clearly show horrible coaching for how many straight weeks now?

I realize that Jerruh is trying to create his own version of Landry but it's not working.

Give me the guy who calls the game that gives us the best chance to win. The fact that we're 0-5 doesn't mean we're losing because we're not taking enough risks. Just look at the TO differential, the ST and defensive scores, and the poor ST coverage. These are simpler explanations for the losses. I don't need to resort to not going for it on a 4th-and-3 deep in the red zone when we needed the fg points for a reason why we're losing.

And, for the record, blaming Garrett or the coaches for the TO problems or the ST units is perfectly reasonable in my book. I'm not defending that. But I can't look at what I think are the real reasons we're getting beat and conclude what we should be doing is taking bigger risks in the passing game. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

Fair points. I will say that going 3 and out (behind 3 consecutive runs) after the blocked FG was a real "smh" moment. You have the momentum, the crowd and the ball...up in smoke. You won't win very many games when you score only 12 points...3 of which were set up via Hardy's INT. Ugly...ugly offense. No one should be under any illusions on who has meant the most to the Cowboys since about 2006. The Cowboys can't get him back soon enough. 97 yards passing is simply not answering the bell.

Probably a reason they wanted him to check down today. He can't hit his head with a hat, let alone a 30 yard go route.

Even with the 3 INTs, I kinda miss Cassel winging it away all over the field. Not sure what happened today.

You answered your own question, but I think Cassel can be a serviceable backup. Better than Weeden anyway.

How much of it is conservative play calling, which is the normal course of action with a backup qb, and how much of it is the Seahawk's design of their defense, not allowing the deep ball?
